I use the savings goals to put money aside for my bills. In some of my accounts, the totals are all in the red in the tens of thousands of dollars. I continue to put money aside.

So over the years, accounts have been switched, added on, etc. The question, I guess, is how do I bring my savings goals up to date???? They go back quite a few years. It's the only aspect that I can't seem to figure out.

I think savings goals are a good idea for putting money aside. Can someone help me with this so maybe I can get rid of all the negative totals showing in my regular accounts?

Creating a whole new quicken file from scratch would be a nightmare. There must be a way to rectify.

Has anyone else noticed the split income reminder amounts changing when you log out of classic and log back in. I have used income reminders to book federal payments that have income lines and expense lines. In 2026, the system has stated moving the amounts between the lines. I have deleted reminders, set up again, use different names, etc. and still have an issue. Once entered in the register they work fine and when I make changes everything looks good and works through the budgets until I log out and back in. Any help resolving this would be appreciated.

When trying to create the annual budget, we can't get the expense categories to show up so that we can enter the values. The Income categories are there, but no Expenses show up. I have gone into "Budget Actions" and selected the specific categories we want to track, but none of them show up.

I want my income and expenses to show in the same month but I don't know how to do this

I receive my income a few days before the start of the month, but it is actually used to pay the next month's expenses. For example, the income I received yesterday will be used to cover March expenses. It is only a problem as it relates to the budget. I don't think I am doing things right and I hope you can help. What I have been doing at Jan 1 is a balance forward entry. This creates a problem in two ways - the budget looks like I had double income in January (the balance forward plus the January deposit) and my year-end budget looks like I only had 11 months' income. I have tried manually changing the deposit date to the 1st day of the month, but then I can't use the scheduled deposits as Quicken only recognizes the date shown when the bank statement is downloaded. I cannot get my actual budget amounts to reflect the actual income received. I guess I could do a journal entry to a "dummy account" to move the income from my chequing account when it is received and then another one to move it back from the dummy account to the chequing account on the 1st of the month. Please let me know if this is the best way of handling my budget issue or if you have a better way of doing it.

There have been a lot of discussions on FSA accounting but they are all closed. For making an expense outside of my FSA card, it is been suggested to enter the reimbursement into my FSA account and transfer that to whatever expense account I used. The problem is I am depositing the reimbursement check ito my checking account. If I list the reimbursement in my FSA account with a transfer, the transfer to my checking acct shows as a negative number, not a positive one. If I list the reimbursement as a deposit into my checking account with a transfer to FSA it shows up as a negative in my FSA acct.

I have already listed the expenses as deductions from my FSA so now the transfer is also an expense. Should I just make a second entry to zero it out? That way my checking account still shows a deposit and the original expenses are properly categorized. Hope my question makes sense. Thanks

This issue has been ongoing for many version of Quicken. Is it noted as a problem that needs to be fixed, or is it just being ignored? One workaround is to select the Capital Gains/Losses link on the Tax Planner tab display and then toggle between User entered and the original setting. That seems to "fix' the Tax Planner tab display, but it's frustrating extra steps to get around a program deficiency.

on windows 11, latest Quicken update, have validated file, issue is new so far as I know.

I have always had a loan paymnet as a budget item, but as I updated the budget for 2026, one of the categories is showing up both as an expense and as an income item. And, it is showing entries that, so far as I can tell, don't exist - they are described as balance adjustments, but they make so sense.

Another issue that has occured for years is the in the budgeting section, income items show up at the top of the expenses and within a section at the bottom label income. THis makes it had to figure total expenses without running reports.

How do I fix these problems?

I created a budget and am having issues with a credit card I have. I sync my Capital One card which has its own account in quicken and pay the credit card out of a bank checking. I am seeing all the various charges and can categorize these within the Cap One credit account in Quicken but when I pay the total charge out of my checking account this is not translating over to my budget. It looks like I have to "split' the payment in the bank account in order for all the various charges to show up in the budgeted categories I created. Is there any way to get the synced downloaded charges for the Cap One card account to also show up when I make the payment out of bank checking.

Seems like a lot of work to have to manually enter "split" all the charged in the bank checking account in order to show up in the budget.

I just created this budget in January so new to working with a budget. I am also noticing that the total budget amount I fixed monthly seems to be changing. I did set for things to carry over monthly if under/over but why is the top number for the budget changing. So far I am only into month two of this now.

Any help or direction is appreciated.

Thank you!

Hello! I have an income reminder that suddenly stopped showing the second reminder in the planning tab. I have tried to repair the quicken file, restore an old back up that had it working, delete and enter a new reminder, change the occurrence from 15th and last day to 15th and 28th to make sure it will always have a date in every month and nothing. The planning tab will only show the projected income for the 15th which defeats the purpose of the planning tab. Does anyone have any suggestions aside from making a second income reminder for the last day of the month? I'd rather not have an extra reminder in the list when the software should be functioning normally. Thank you!!
