How can I get Quicken to find shares of a security that I purchased and entered into Quicken?

I bought 100 shares of Intel, and then bought 25 more shares.  The Quicken portfolio, shows 125 shares of Intel, with the correct total market value and basis.  However, when I click the plus sign for the drop down list showing the two lots, all that appears is one line showing 100 shares (with the cost basis of just those shares) - there is no reference to the other lot of 25 shares.

As a test, I entered a transaction to sell 100 Intel shares, but when I clicked the button to specify lots, it only showed the first lot of 100 shares -  there was no reference at all to the other 25 shares.  Also, if I checked the box saying I want to sell all shares in the account, it showed only 100 shares as being sold.  When I entered this transaction, and went back to the portfolio, it showed me holding 25 shares, and when I clicked the plus sign I saw a drop down listing for those 25 shares.

When I deleted my test transaction, the original problem reappeared - there was again no reference to the 25 shares in the drop down list on the portfolio.

I do not see any problems on the security detail view - it shows both the 100 share and the 25 share purchases.

How can I get all pages in Quicken to remember that I purchased (and now hold) 125 shares

If you haven't already, I suggest that you validate and repair the data file (select "File"--"File Operations"--"Validate and Repair...").

Thank you Sherlock - I tried validate and repair, but it did not fix this problem.

This phrasing confuses me:  "when I click the plus sign for the drop down list showing the two lots, ..."

The plus sign will appear when the portfolio view is grouped by Account.  Does that view setting show one line of Intel for 125 shares with the plus sign, or does it show two lines of Intel for 100 shares and 25 shares with the plus sign on each line?

Or are you seeing the 125 share total when you are grouped by something other than Account?

Possibilities I see are:  a)  you own the two lots in two different accounts (perhaps you mistakenly bought one lot in the wrong account), and b) you own two different (in Quicken) securities (like Intel Co, and Intel Co.)
