    Hello All,

As you know, we worked hard to build and test Quicken 2016, and we believe it’s the best Windows product that we’ve released yet; but, we also know that it’s not perfect.  While the vast majority of users aren’t experiencing any problems, some users are reporting missing or incorrectly sorted transactions, along with file password issues and crashes.  We’ve also made some updates to Quicken’s new Bill Center.

(Tip: if you ever do experience a crash with Quicken, restart Quicken, make a backup of your file, then go to File>Validate to run a validation on your file).

We want to assure you that that we’re committed to fixing all product issues as quickly as possible, just as we’re committed to continually improving the product overall.

This week we plan on releasing the R3 patch to fix some reported issues:

    Fixes:
    • In certain cases, some data from the user’s data file is not loading after upgrading to Quicken 2016
    • Some users are locked out when switching between data files
    • Users get an error that Internet is unavailable when getting the Credit Score report for a previously registered Social Security Number
    • Multiple transaction entries can appear after linking a biller to a reminder with auto-enter in the register
    • In the Bill Center, the Enter and Skip buttons are displayed for some downloaded paid bills
    • The security message on the biller login page is incorrectly displayed when the user name header is long
    Improvements:
    • Corrected the transaction history message for Online Bills
    • Aligned the text on the biller login page
    • The scroll bar and the text on the Bills page are correctly displayed when DPI is 150%
    • Improved the Settings/Gear icon on the Bills page
    • Rewrote several error messages to provide clearer information to the user

We want to keep you informed of all the work we’re doing, so if you’d like to continue getting updates like this from the Quicken Windows product team, just go to this page and click "follow tag" on the upper right.

The Quicken Windows development team has released the Quicken 2016 R3 patch.

This patch is designed to fix the following issues reported by users:
    • In certain cases, some transactions from the data file are not loading or displaying correctly after upgrading to Quicken 2016.
    • In some cases, users are locked out of Quicken and prompted for a password when switching between data files.
    • Users get an error that “Internet is unavailable” when getting the Credit Score report for an SSN registered with another Quicken file.
For the full release notes, or to download the manual patch, please see this FAQ.

NOTE: If you have experienced either the missing transaction display issue, or the password prompt/lockout issue, the R3 patch will not resolve the issues in the file.  See the steps below to resolve the issue you’re experiencing:

    Data not loading/Missing transaction data:
    1. Open Quicken 2016
    2. Perform a One Step Update
    3. When prompted, update your Quicken to the R3 release (this will appear at the top of your One Step Update summary window
    4. When the release is complete, open Quicken and go to File>Backup and Restore>Restore from Backup and Restore the most recent backup file prior to when you experienced this issue (you may need to re-convert your prior year Quicken file if you’ve only recently installed Quicken 2016).

    Password prompt/lockout issue:
    1. Go to this FAQ and follow the instructions to download and install the manual patch
    2. After Quicken has been updated, open Quicken without a data file: hold CTRL+Shift while opening Quicken.
    3. Go to File>Restore from Backup and Restore the most recent backup file prior to when you experienced this issue (you may need to re-convert your prior year Quicken file if you’ve only recently installed Quicken 2016).

If you have any issues installing the patch, please use the "Mondo" patch link on the FAQ or contact our customer care team: www.quicken.com/contact-us

The Quicken Windows product team is hard at work on upcoming patch releases to fix issues reported by 2016 users.  A few of the things to look forward to in future patch releases are:
    • Extensive fixes to the Intuit ID and registration processes
    • Bill Center fixes and enhancements
    • Improving slow performance on some Quicken files
    • Improving Quicken display when a user has high DPI settings
The team will post more details on these fixes here, with release notes, when the patches are pushed live—

    Hello All,

Here are a couple of updates from the Quicken Windows team:

    1. Thanks to your help, we’ve discovered an issue with Quicken Windows 2016 and the Windows short date format: if the short date format includes the day of the week (for example, Monday, December 14, 2015), Quicken’s date fields aren’t working properly.  We’re working to fix this issue, but in the meantime, a workaround would be to avoid using this specific date format.  For more information on updating this setting in Windows, please review this FAQ.

    2. Some users are reporting issues with column widths not resizing after changing the screen resolution (of Quicken or their Windows system).  This can occur if users have manually modified the column widths prior to changing their screen resolution.  To reset the column width, just go to the register, then click the gear icon on the upper right --> Register Columns --> Gear Icon on lower left of the Register Columns menu, and then choose “Reset to default columns” in the dropdown.

    Hope this helps,

The Quicken Windows team has worked quickly to release Quicken 2015 R10; this patch will fix an issue with the R9 patch, which caused some users to experience crashes, due to a system conflict.

If you’re unable to open Quicken due to an R9 crash condition, just go to this FAQ and download and install the Manual patch, then open Quicken to complete the installation process.  If the Manual patch doesn’t work, please download the Mondo version of the patch, also on the FAQ above.

Thank you for your patience while we corrected this!

    Hi All,

We've identified an issue with Quicken for Windows 2016 that causes slowness or freezing when using the dropdown securities list in the investments register; problem is particularly noticeable with large security lists of 100 or more securities.

We are working to fix this issue as quickly as possible, but in the meantime, a workaround to this issue is to manually type the first few letters of the security name until the security auto-completes, rather than using the dropdown.

We will update this thread with more information as it becomes available.

Thank you for your help in identifying this issue!
