How can you make one deposit which contains checks from multiple renters and have the rent spread to

Say for instance you get 4 checks for $500.00 rent each and make one bank deposit of $2,000.  Since you can't enter 4 different payees in the Split Transaction fields, the rents received will not spread to the rental accounts.

You can enter each rent separately, but then you can't balance to the bank records.

Create an intermediate account in Quicken - call it "Undeposited Rent", for example.
Tell Quicken to deposit the rent payments in the Undeposited Rent account.
When you record the actual rent transaction, categorize it as a transfer from the Undeposited Rent account.
