Quicken 2016 on Windows 10. Error on Login with ItuitId. 'An Unknown Error Occurred. Please try

I have bought a new laptop with Windows 10. I then purchased Quicken 2016 for Windows. After installation of Quicken 2016 I tried to start it . It is asking me to login with my ItuitId. When I try to login I am always getting the message 'An Unknown Error Occurred. Please try to connect later'. I have tried to connect multiple times at different times of the day and I always get the same message.

    What is the exact
release number for your version of Quicken?

If clicking on Help / About Quicken does not show one of the following you are
    missing required software updates:

    Quicken US version:

    -
    "2014 ... Release R9",  https://www.quicken.com/support/quicken-2014-windows-release-notes-updates-and-mondo-patch

    - "2015 ... Release R11",  https://www.quicken.com/support/quicken-2015-windows-release-notes-updates-and-mondo-patch

    - "2016 ... Release R8(or higher)", https://www.quicken.com/support/quicken-2016-windows-release-notes-updates-and-mondo-patch

    Quicken Canada
    version:

    -
    2014 ... Release R4

    - 2015 ... Release R3

    - 2016 ... Release R2

Quicken Canada users: Do not download the patch or Mondo Patch files
in the above links. They apply to Quicken US users only. Instead, scroll down
the webpage to the Quicken Canada section and download that file.

    Please do this:

Locate the Mondo Patch file or Canada patch file applicable to your version of
    Quicken in the links above.

Download it and save it to disk.

Temporarily disable your Antivirus software for the entire duration of the next
step: Install (run) the downloaded patch file.

This will replace any Quicken software modules with a known consistent release
level and, hopefully, eliminate any software corruption or errors during
installation as a cause of this issue.

    Hi @ Zoe Doebert ,

    See this post: https://getsatisfaction.com/quickencommunity/topics/add-your-quicken-information-to-your-posts-plus-...

To install or reinstall see: https://getsatisfaction.com/quickencommunity/topics/how-to-download-and-how-to-install-from-download...

Here is the problem, since Quicken 2016 came out, Quicken was sold and Security Measures were added to the Quicken Program in order to insure that one's Financial Data remains safe.

So before the actual Quicken program works, you need to download and install the latest Mondo-Patch.

I unistalled Quicken 2016 and then used QCleanUI.exe to complete remove it.  After I restarted the computer I did a new install and everything is working fine now.  It is a Canadian version R2 25.1.2.8.

The latest mondo patch didn't work but after an uninstall, complete clean using QCleanUI and then a new install and everything is working well

I'm getting exactly the same error message as Zoe. I apparently have a Canadian version, too: Release R 2 (25.1.2.10)

But I don't see where the Canadian section is to find the patch file. A little insight, please...Thanks! Donna

I have a very similar problem.  After I reinstalled quicken 2015 premier to windows 7 I tried to open an existing file that works fine on another computer.  I enter the files password and then get a request to sign in using my Intuit ID?PW which I entered.  hen  get the unknown error message.  There are no command options at the top.  I went to the mondo patch link and there are instructions to update through Tools but I do not have that or any commands at the top except file and help.  Now what?

Forget that first part about Tools and updating Quicken, because you're dead in the water.
Go to the third item, How to use the Mondo Patch Update, click it to expand the text. Locate the Mondo Patch link, click it, download and save the file. Follow the rest of my instructions above.

Bravo!  This solved my problem!  Took forever (it seemed) to download the Mondo Patch update but using it was simple and the update was quickly accomplished with Quicken (at LAST) working on my laptop.  Thank you!!!

Thank you.  I had an OS Crash and when I reinstalled Quicken 2015 I was stuck.  Found the QW2015R17.1MPatch.EXE file which has me back and working.
