Not hard to implement optional second view, that pops up based on preference set OR by a button to switch views. Therefore cannot hurt to ask.@smayer97,
I don't see Quicken redesigning the view or placement of data in the reconciliation screen because it's an overlay of the register for which they sort by date unreconciled items to view and reconcile. This is the trend as much as I don't like it either, this makes it easier for the programmers.
I'm not apposed I just know the programming these days is done so it limits maintenance and required programming by utilizing overlays. Good luck with that one. Haven't you noticed all functions dealing with the register data looks like the register?@smayer97,

that post is for anyone who reads this thread.Quicken already asked me what features I would like to see added to Quicken.
Here are a couple more to highlight that may be of interest: Be sure to click on the link to EACH IDEA separately that you are interested in, then click the VOTE button at the top of EACH page that opens up respectively to increase the count and therefore its visibility to the developers.I also highly recommend that you browse through the IDEAS section of this forum and VOTE for the request of each of the missing features to be added back into Quicken for Mac....to help direct the priorities of the developers.
To do that, I suggest you read this FAQ on how to filter the IDEAS on this forum to just show the ones for the Mac version, then VOTE to your heart's content:

The following are some of the many feature requests you will find:and many others.
- List of Requests for Report Types and Related Features
- Restore Transactions Downloading Acceptance and Matching workflow
- Option to Have Debits and Credits Tallied Separately for Reconciliation Process
Add ability to track/store Prior Reconciled Statements/periods
True multi-currency conversion support- many requests for configuration options
Be sure to scroll down the page, as some contain lists of related features. Click on the link to EACH IDEA separately that you are interested in, then click the VOTE button at the top of EACH page that opens up respectively to increase the count and therefore its visibility to the developers.
If you do not click VOTE at the top of the page of each feature, your vote will NOT be counted for THAT specific feature!

This is only a request for the option to choose, not replace the existing presentation. For what it's worth, I like the current setup, and I was used to the old separate setup from QM2007.
OK. I have no problem with allowing the option. For what it's worth, I like the current setup, and I was used to the old separate setup from QM2007.
I understand what your talking about that is how my "bank statement" is laid out which I reconcile to; Deposits including any interest rec'd in one section and POS, APP, Bankcard, Withdrawals, Transfers, Online Bill pay, transactions and bank fees in another and physical checks in another. Some banks do not have this format though. For what it's worth, I like the current setup, and I was used to the old separate setup from QM2007.
So the above has been partially implement as of QM2016 v3.5.2.For what it's worth, I like the current setup, and I was used to the old separate setup from QM2007.
You can now VOTE for the feature to Add option to Sort Reconciliation Screen by Check # , here: https://getsatisfaction.com/quickencommunity/topics/reconcile-improvements-adding-features-back-in-f...For what it's worth, I like the current setup, and I was used to the old separate setup from QM2007.
That already exists in mine! Also, the two columns are separated by the "clr" column so it's easy to distinguish deposits from payments but they are in date order as it would be if you when online to your bank and looked up your activity there. It just isn't going to appear in the same format as QM2007 like you want. For what it's worth, I like the current setup, and I was used to the old separate setup from QM2007.
Yes, the Payment and Deposit columns are there, as stated above. For what it's worth, I like the current setup, and I was used to the old separate setup from QM2007.
The only function is a filter on the "Date" column as you can see the directional error in the screen print in my last post, which when you click on it, it switches the date order view (changes oldest date to to the top or to bottom based on the direction of the error). For what it's worth, I like the current setup, and I was used to the old separate setup from QM2007.
Thx for confirming. For what it's worth, I like the current setup, and I was used to the old separate setup from QM2007.
But when your not in reconcile and just in the register, if you click on a column header it turns on what looks like a filter but I guess it is really a "sort" function (A-Z or Z-A) but this is not enabled in reconciliation screen. For what it's worth, I like the current setup, and I was used to the old separate setup from QM2007.
Yes, Ideally it would be nice to have the payments/debits and deposits/credits grouped together. For what it's worth, I like the current setup, and I was used to the old separate setup from QM2007.
In the "Register" if you click on the "Action" column it sorts Debits and Credits separately and each in date order. I have a separate column for "check" numbers and when I click on that it groups the check transactions together in date or too.For what it's worth, I like the current setup, and I was used to the old separate setup from QM2007.
Sounds like a great alternative...and avoids an extra view...Thx for the feedback. For what it's worth, I like the current setup, and I was used to the old separate setup from QM2007.
It's a bit more than just adding the standard filter, but the programmers ott to understand what I described above. For what it's worth, I like the current setup, and I was used to the old separate setup from QM2007.
The reconciliation screen was revamped since the original request and some of the comments above, so some of the request above now exist in Quicken Mac. Of note:
So as I see it, most of the requests in this thread have been addressed. The one requested feature which you cannot do is sort debits separate from credits and do a secondary sort in date order within each type of transaction.
Hello All,
The status of this Idea has been changed to Under Consideration as it has been resubmitted to our Product and Development team for further review.
Thank you!
