unable to export memo field from report with Quicken Mac
I have a report with columns: date, account, category, memo and amount. When I export it as a CSV file, the memo field will not export. This is crucial for me because I use that memo field to additionally identify the transactions and would like it in Excel to be able to sort, filter, etc. I don't see a way of customizing the export of the report, but it would be nice if the exported data in the CSV file has what's reflected on the Quicken report. Why is the memo field omitted from the export??

For someone to be able to give
you a correct answer, we need to know what version and release of Quicken you
are using.
What version of Windows or Mac OS are you using?
Click Help / About Quicken (Mac: Quicken / About Quicken) to determine
year/version and release.
Suggestion to the OP - can you isolate/display the same data in a register - using the filtering options? Might take more than one setting and export step.
Export the register results to CSV. You would have to redo the sorting and subtotals in Excel.

Whatever transactions/columns you have displayed get exported. As JM noted, you can use filters and searching to limit when gets exported if desired.
Alternatively, you can print the register as a report. The best way is to try it: be in a register and choose Print and examine your various options. I would print the report to Preview (from the PDF menu) so you can see your results. Again, this is useful when used in conjunction to filtering or searching. Try it out.
The option of using the register to export the account is highly undesirable. I have several accounts that I've closed and it is tedious having to activate them and then close them to view the information in the cash & credit accounts.
Like others have said, I believe this to be a bug not a feature request. I'd be willing to update to Quicken 2017 if anyone knows if this issue has been resolved.

I've resorted to adding accounts that were closed back to the account view list and exporting from the transaction list view, which does pick up the memo field. Definitely not desirable, but it works.

So if I export a Category Summary report for All Accounts for a given year with Details for all categories and Show Memo/Notes selected, I cannot see which of my exported Dividend Income transactions are from which investment accounts (some taxable and some not). So the solution is [still] to export the BANKING or ALL TRANSACTIONS register view to a CSV file via the menu option in order to get everything I need for a report.
