Add Rollover option for 12-month budgets (3 Legacy Votes)
The QWIN budget tool has this option for years and was very helpful. I like over all I like the new budget tool in QMAC. But it is missing this key option to set a budget to rollover its surplus/deficit to the next month. PLEASE ADD to QMAC so I can stop use a spreadsheet for my 12-month budget.

The number one feature that keeps our family from migrating over to Quicken for Mac is the lack of monthly budget rollovers. We use this constantly to set monthly money aside for budgets that we use for large long term expenses like car tires and vehicle maintenance. It is also really nice if we over spent on groceries for one month, that the next month's budget reflects this so we know to try and spend less. This is a SUPER feature and absolutely critical to our budgeting. Please, if you can, vote for this feature on Quicken. For Mac, just click on "Quicken" next to the apple on the top left of the toolbar at the top of the screen and click "Provide Feedback". There you can free type a feature that you want to be added, just type "monthly budget rollover". They update features based on these community votes, so please vote and encourage others to vote as well.
Thanks,
Chris

i.e. if January finishes +300, but February finishes -500, then at the end of February, estimated cashflow is -200. A tally like this running through the year can help immensely with budget planning.
In the attached example I happen to have that line item listed as "reserve" and it is above the summaries, but below would probably make more sense within the product. The usefulness here is that while my end of year numbers are positive in relation to income vs expenses, I have a month by month difference but no running total of when I go negative and then come positive again.
But if that can't be done, an export of the budget, with formulas included would go a long way too, for totaling by month, etc. Right now after I export the budget I then need to manually go in and replace the totals with computed formulas to do the planning.

Windows users can rollover budget categories from month to month. Please allow Mac users to do the same! When purchasing this product it is not clear that Mac users are unable to do this and without this feature, the entire budget tool is not very useful at all.
Welcome to the Community!
I have moved your post to the ongoing Idea thread to have this feature added to the Mac version.
Unfortunately, the ability to rollover amounts in the budgets has not been created for the Mac version as of yet.
Our developers review these Idea posts to get an idea of what people would like to see in the product, so please go to the top and vote on this idea.
Thank you!

When I ask about rollovers, I'm curious about a situation where I budget $100 dollars for category each month, but I only spend $80 dollars so the amount rolls over and we have $120 in that category the next month.
The best I can tell is that editions up to Quicken for Mac 2018 didn't have this feature, but I'm wondering if anything beyond that does.
I have moved your post to the ongoing Idea thread to have this feature added to the Mac version.
This Idea has been marked as "Planned" meaning feature is planned to be added to the Mac version.
However, I am unable provide and ETA of when to expect these feature to be available.
Thank you for your patience,

Was wondering if there are any updates on the proposed budget rollover feature for QMAC since being marked as "Planned." If not, do you have a resource that you could link me to so I know when it's released. Thanks in advance.
In this case, from reading between the lines of what the product manager has posted regarding budgets, it seems they have to do significant re-writing of the program code for budgets to implement multiple features users have been asking for, including the ability to budget transfers (such as loan payments), rollover functionality, . It's not unusual for them to group several changes in the same area of the code and work on them together, although we don't know if that's the case here.
The best way to know if this feature has been implemented are to (a) bookmark this thread and check it periodically, or (b) check the release notes after each new major release of Quicken Mac, as this will surely be highlighted in the notes when it is delivered. (You can find Release Notes from inside Quicken on the Help Menu, or on the Quicken website here.)
> ...PLEASE ADD to QMAC so I can stop use a spreadsheet for my 12-month budget.
YESSSS — I second this (while jumping up and down)! Jakob Nielsen would call this a 4 for Mac 12-month budget users — Usability catastrophe: imperative to fix this before product can be released! (I paid for the upgrade, but just cancelled it because the website does not say that it doesn't work for mac users.)
THANK YOU!!!!! I know you can do it!
Here is the post that has it under constructer for several years.

Recommend trying [removed - no soliciting] for Rollover Budgeting. Sometimes just leaving the company, and taking business else where due to lack of key functionality.
Also, recommend Quicken look at an easier way for users to identify features they like, and up vote them. This will give Quicken more transparency into what their Mac Quicken user community want. I have found several posts on the same thing.
While there will be those who don't look, and just post, the search feature in finding similar topics could be improved. My 2 cents for what its worth to Quicken.
This Idea seems to have fallen stagnant and due to the age of the request and lack of User Votes/Comments, it will be archived within the next 7 business days.
If you would like to see this Idea kept alive and considered for possible future implementation in Quicken, be sure to add your vote and a comment explaining how this Idea would be beneficial for you.
More information, including steps to vote and how to submit your own Ideas for future product features/improvements, is also available here.

I'd note that that Idea is marked as "Planned".
There's also this thread…
https://community.quicken.com/discussion/7363462/budget-rollover-report-43-legacy-votes
…which was just recently marked "Under Consideration" and submitted for review on 6/1/20.
I haven't read every comment in all the threads, but all three of these ideas seem like they are the same thing: a way for Quicken to show the cumulative under- or over-budget you are in each budget category. I'm not sure why one is "Planned" and one is "Under Review", but I believe this could be merged with either one, or they could all emerged together (which might be too messy to do).
If I am just an n=1, so be it, but just thought I would add my voice to the "I need this feature for quicken to be useful.
Ill check this thread every so often, assuming the software I'm trialing doesn't work out.
