QMac: Major Quicken 4.5.6 Update Bugs including causing program to hang when you try to open; also e

Running Mac Sierra OS 10.12.5, Using Quicken 4.5.4, every time I accept the upgrade offer to 4.5.6 the program hangs when I try to log in. I have had to uninstall the new version, reload the 4.5.4 version, and it works fine. Have now done this THREE times. I've sent you a report when I had to force quit the program that the program asked me to do. That's problem #1. Problem #2 is that my downloads from Chase Bank have failed with an error 102. . PLEASE GET ON THIS - this is the buggiest program I have ever seen, and I am (Thank God) still using my bullet-proof Quicken 2007 program. Thank You.

Having the same problem, and also with a download from Bank of America credit card. I'm running OS 10.11.6 and getting ready to upgrade to 10.12.x. Doesn't sound like that will solve the problem.

Regarding the Chase issue... if you are using Quicken Connect, try changing it to Direct Connect.

Regarding the upgrade failure, please contact Quicken Support.

Having the exact same issue when upgrading to 4.5.6, wish quicken would do something about this. How did you downgrade?

I use Time Machine and just go to a saved time/date and reinstall the prior version. Program has been ported over from Windows; not written from scratch for Mac. Buggy and unintuitive; not at all like a Mac application. They need to start from scratch, emulate the look, feel, layout and features of Quicken 2007, add mobile, and bring it up to speed. Until then, I would not suggest that any Mac user waste their money or their time on this atrocity. PS: After reinstalling, the Chase 102 error disappeared - so the problem wasn't on the bank's side.

This has been the problem since 2007 with Quicken. There must be a replacement that isn't Quicken. Anyone Know>>

After upgrading my Mac’s OS to Sierra 10.12.5, I opened my working copy of Quicken Mac 2017 (4.5.4) and again accepted the upgrade to version 4.5.6. Installation went smoothly as expected. When Quicken restarted, I got the spinning beach ball for about five minutes. I was just about to have a look at the Force Quit window, when the spinning ball went away and I was presented with the main Quicken window.

I shut it down and restarted it — no problems. Then did it again and entered some data — again no problems. Quit and started again with no problems. So this problem is solved for me.

It is still marking my Bank of America credit card as Dead, so that problem still exists.
