I am using the mobile app for the first time in Canada. I spoke to Quicken support and got everything set up. Support was excellent by the way. I am trying to enter a transfer between accounts on the Quicken mobile app. It was a long drawn out process where I had to enter the transfer as an expense in one account, categorize it in Transfers (an expense account that I have never used or seen on the desktop version) then create an income transaction in the account that I wanted the transfer to end up in (categorizing it in under the same transfer expense). Why is there not simply a transfer function and a list of accounts to transfer to, just like the desktop version? Please add this function.

Excellent question. I too am trying to figure out how to do this. Doesn't seem that big of a deal to add a transfer function.0

This is a serious problem. I use the mobile app most to track cash transactions. Often, when I am using cash, I am going to get reimbursed by my company for it. Rather than recording the cash as an expense, I record it as a transfer to an asset account. Then I have all the expenses for which I need reimbursed in one account and can reconcile to make sure I seek reimbursement for all appropriate expenses from my company. The app currently does not support this at all. And, even with the latest version of quicken, I get an error when i am trying to sync from the desktop to online and have a transfer from a credit card to another account.0

Same here. IMHO when the programmers decided that Q Mobile should not support creating a transfer, they exhibited complete INCOMPETENCE. Transferring money from one account to another is one of the most basic functions there is.
The only (almost) reasonable explanation I can think of as to why they did this: the destination account might not be sync'd to Q Mobile. But the fact that it's not sync'd shouldn't necessarily mean that Q Mobile doesn't know the account exists. Q Mobile should allow me to create a transaction that is a transfer from one account to another. If the destination account is an UNSYNC'd account, then the desktop side could handle reconciling the transfer into the other account.0 -

It is a very basic transaction: move money from one account to another. So IMHO the decision to not allow Q Mobile to create a transfer was just an act of INCOMPETENCE on the the developer's part.
My guess is that because not all accounts will be sync'd with Q Mobile, they didn't know what to do. To me it's simple: the fact that the other account will not be sync'd doesn't mean that Q Mobile shouldn't know the account exists.
Make it so that Q Mobile can see the account but not create/edit transactions directly within that account. At the next sync, Q will know what account it belongs with.0
