Quicken automatically offers to create the reconciliation report, after reconciling, for savings and chequing accounts. You need to manually initiate the report after reconciling a credit card account. I don’t know why the design difference is present in the software; I also wish cc accounts prompted for creation of the report. Regardless, the workaround is to manually initiate the reconciliation report for the cc accounts.
@Quicken Harold: I just discovered that as a result of a recent update, the Reconciliation feature is greyed out for credit card accounts, which is a reduction in functionality. This is new. As recently as a couple weeks ago, I was able to manually initiate a reconciliation account for credit card accounts. Now that feature is always greyed out. Why was this change mande? Can we get this re-enabled, please? Even better, can we get Q to prompt for the creation of a reconciliation report after reconciling CC accounts just as it does after reconciling savings and chequing accounts.

How does one manually initiate the reconciliation report for credit card accounts?? Please advise and thanks much. John

Is there any word as yet regarding the credit card accounts and can you tell me how to manually initiate these reconciliation reports as I have a good number of credit card accounts that should have copies of the printed reconciliations with them.

I also noticed the downgrade function change that a reconciliation report for CC accounts was no longer a menu option (Option: Reports > Banking > Reconciliation Report = greyed out) in versions of Q-2016. Up to some time in Dec 2015 I was able to create and output reconciliation reports for any CC accounts; in Jan 2016 this function disappeared, i.e. the menu option greyed out when placed with a CC account. I now upgraded to Q-2018 and the function is again available through the menu as a manual option; i.e. it does not prompt for a report. It is absolutely essential for accountants that open item (OI) managed accounts have proper audit functions which include reconciliation reports for any open and all closed items since the last reconciliation. I believe this is also a Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirement in the U.S. that auditors check during their audits. While I am not a business I like to work my accounting just like a business and keep OI accounts up-to-date with reconciliations.

Whats the point of having the reconciliation option if it won't print out and furthermore what would be the point of using Quicken if I cannot prove to the IRS that I have reconciled my accounts. Have been waiting for over seven months to get resolved?????

Are you serious that it would take over 7 months to get this vital issue resolved??

The IRS doesn't care if your accounts are reconciled, or not. They just want to know what the summary amounts of tax-related categories are.
AND, BTW, the reconciliation report exists in QW2018.

I doubt any print out from Quicken would satisfy the IRS. You can change anything to anything, and there isn't any kind of audit trail. They would be much more inclined to request "source documents", like statements are receipts.

Am using QW2018 and there is no way to print out a reconciliation on any accounts other than bank accounts. Example; no recon report print out available on credit card accounts. It provides a recon but no print outs. That is what I would be looking for.

Go to Reports>Reports and Graph Center and in the first column there will be a Reconciliation report.

Just tried it that way and it does not locate the last report of an account that I reconciled. In other words, it does not find the reconciled report of the credit card account that I just reconciled. Can you give further instructions?

I never print out reconcile reports, but I was able to do that if the account is displayed and you go to Reports,Banking, Reconciliation. (I auto reconcile to online balance so don’t know if that affects this or not)

I regularly print (to PDF) reconciliation reports from QW2018 CAD. Works fine. For credit cards, Quicken doesn't prompt the creation of a reconciliation report, but I can manually initiate such from the Banking Reports list immediately after reconciling the credit card. Just did so this morning, in fact.

I forgot to tell you that you have to have the register open for the account that you want to reconcile, then follow my instructions. Sorry about that!

Tried that and it worked for me as well. Much appreciate your input. You be Da Man
