I managed to start Quicken doing what you said and got to the Get Started screen. Then I tried restoring each of the 5 latest backups and Quicken hung every time and all I could do was force quit it. What can we try next?
Quicken Marcus This is a feature that many have been seeking as found here:

We just shipped 5.6.3 which has the fix so upgrading to this version should fix this issue.
By the way, the automatically mark as paid feature is a little hidden but we added this feature in 2018 with the new Bills & Income feature. 1) Go to Bills & Income and stay on the Bills view. 2) Click the 3 dots on the scheduled transaction that you want to change. 3) Select Edit Schedule. 4) In this dialog, there is now a checkbox for Automatically "mark as paid".
Please be careful with any Bill Pay scheduled transactions because we will have to move the date and pay your bill if it happens to fall on a weekend.

Okay, good to know. I could not find anything about it in the release notes.
Also, when you edit the schedule from the transactions's account register, the automatic pay option is not there. This seems like an oversight.
And one more thing... You might want to add your "be careful" not to the help that pops up when you click the question mark next to "mark as paid".

You could not find it because it is not in the Release Notes... seems like an important one to have listed since many have been waiting for this.
