Current Budget and Historical Budget reports are not displaying subcategory description correctly.  The subcategory descriptions for every subcategory under a main category is displayed as "Other <Main category description>".  E.g. if there are four subcategories under  a main category of "Auto" the display shows as follows:

You appear to be recording transactions to Category = "Auto" even though there are additional subcategories available. You should record your transactions to, e.g., Auto:Gasoline, Auto:Insurance, etc. and NOT to the parent category Auto.
Quicken, so that it can properly show the amounts for transactions recorded into a parent category, always uses a pseudo - category "Other" to list these transactions. It appears to have to do with being able to properly show rollup totals for each subcategory separately from transactions categorized to the parent category.

    P.S.:
Please check your settings in Edit / Preferences / Reports only. You can decide if you would like to see Category names in reports together with their descriptive title or shorter, as category name only or description only.
IMHO, showing both Category names and descriptions together makes for an awfully long Category field on reports that just takes up too much space on the report page.

    From C. D. Bales:

Go to Edit > Preferences > Reports only.

Make sure "Both" is not checked in "Category display".

Transactions are being recorded to subcategories.  The Current Budget and Historical Budget reports are the only reports with this issue.  Below is he corresponding  Income/Expense by Category report:

I reviewed the preferences and appreciate the advice regarding selection.

    It's definitely a bug.
When Preferences / Reports only settings for Category display are set to "Description" or "Both", the report goes screwy and shows incorrect category names.
For the report to work correctly at this time, use setting "Name" only.

I hope the programmers get a round tuit soon to fix this problem.

Thanks UKR.  Changed the preference to "Name" only and issue resolved.

But you should NOT have to use name only! I use acct's for the name and a verbal comment for the Description. We should not have to find work-arounds. It should work correctly!! (removed-rant)
