    PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!!

Can you please add a filter in the transaction register to hide reconciled transactions?  Why dear god why would I want to look at the last 10 years worth of transactions.  I'm only concerned with unreconciled transactions in my register.  Every other package I've used other than quicken has this feature.  I can't be the only one.

I have Windows Quicken but I think the Mac has some filter settings at the top of the register.

Yes but not to hide reconciled transactions.

smayer97 is correct.  There are filters already....so it's not like we're asking for a ton of new functionality.....just an additional filter for unreconciled.

Quicken does have the capability to hide reconciled transactions bu showing you only the unreconciled one.  The problem with that is that is messes with your ending balance using the unreconciled transaction as a zero balance starting point.

I have Windows Quicken but I think the Mac has some filter settings at the top of the register.

1st, I am using Quicken 2017 Deluxe on a Windows 10 operating system.

In every account registry, just to the right of the Account Menu Bar and below the Main Menu Link Bar.  You see the Name of the Account that you are working.  Below the name, there are 3 drop-down menus which are defaulted to "All Dates", "Any Type", & "All Transactions".image

If you select the "All Transactions" drop-down, you can select to view "All Transactions", "Uncategorized", "Unreconciled", "Cleared","Uncleared", or "Flagged".

The problem I have found with this is that if I chose the "Unreconciled" view, Quicken reset my view balance to zero as of the date of the reconciliation.  This means that the first transactions after reconciliation start from $0, even if I had thousands of dollars in the account.

CM Phillips....you did notice that this thread was for Quicken for Mac 2017....right? That option doesn't exist on the Mac Version.

Well, you could just click twice on the "Clr" column, and that would put all your unreconciled transactions at the top. It doesn't hide the unreconciled ones, but it lets you see them all together without needing to scroll through a register.

It's more about cleaning up the view of the register. Just being able to view or hide transactions based on whether it's been reconciled helps really clean everything up.

Yes, they could add an "Unreconciled" item to the Status filter alongside "Uncleared".

the only way i have found to do this is to transfer all the money in my checking account into my savings account and bring my checking account balance to zero. then reconcile my checking account in quicken.  this way when I click "unreconciled transactions" it doesn't mess up my account balance.

i usually do this the day before payday so my balance is zero before I get my direct deposit. this isn't the best solution but it works.

I don't understand why quicken hasn't fixed this issue as it has been a problem people have complained about for over 10 years. Personally I don't update my software every year because they haven't fixed this. I usually just update my software every 3 or 4 years I'm currently using 2017 so they aren't making as much money off of me as they could if they would fix this obviously stupid issue.
