After installing 5.8.2, my data file has been changed and is called Sanitized data file. How do I get rid of old files and change the "sanitized" to the correct name and unsanitize it (if it makes a difference)
Thanks for your reply. I found and updated the current file. My problem now is that I am not sure where to find the sanitized file or some other old data files that I have. I have looked for them before to try to delete them but I have not been successful. Can you lead me to them?
Have you tried checking in the location where your files are located? Click on File > Show "filename" in Finder and see if your sanitized file is located here.
Yes. And neither the sanitized file or some old Quicken files are anywhere to be found, although they show up in the dock icon. Do you have any idea how I can get them out of there?
Are you running QM 2017? I see so many problems reported I am afraid to update. And I read the "fix" on this one & it is way over my non-technical head & I think that if this happened to me I would really be in trouble!

Hi Deanna, appreciate your question.
They might be showing up in your Documents folder.. I would try using the Spotlight Search (magnifying glass on the top right hand side of the screen) and search or "Sanitized" and it should show where that file is located. You can also use the same Spotlight Search for search for other Quicken Files (file extension of .quicken)

Hi Harold,
Found a solution. I cleared the menu under file in Quicken and I found some sanitized files in the automatic backup folder.

Stop! You can't unsanitize a file or use it for your Data File. Somehow, you Sanitized your Data File.
A Sanitize Data File Copy is created by the User to upload to Quicken Support to solve a problem.
It is a copy of your Data File. You keep your Old Files and delete the Sanitized Data File Copy, if you did not create it.
Load your old files, one Data File, at the time, to find your current Data File.
