    Cannot believe that PC Financial won't allow this feature anymore ... it is unbelievable ... I guess for small businesses using Quickbooks it will also be a problem..  PC Financial new website is also a step back in many ways.  I will probably also change my MasterCard to something more useful that includes download to Quicken.  I have used Quicken for at least 20 years now!  Can someone suggest a good alternative that includes the download to Quicken? ..

    Just got the BMO cash back no fee approved... looking forward to being able to download again !!

    I was thinking of re-engineering a CSV file to work as a Quicken QFX file.

    However, CSV files are missing data. QFX files contain, among other things...

    <TRNTYPE>
    <DTPOSTED>
    <DTUSER>
    <TRNAMT>
    <FITID>
    <SIC>
    <NAME>

    CSV files contain...

    <MERCHANT NAME>
    <CARD USED FOR TRANSACTION>
    <DATE>
    <TIME>
    <AMOUNT>

    Let's hope PC Financial makes QFX files available again.

    Me too ... or they have lost me as a customer ...

    You would have to ask PC Financial.  Quicken (or Intuit the service provider in the case of downloading) can not decide for a FI if they want to be a participating Quicken partner.

    If you can get a QIF or CSV file from them, you could use ImportQIF to import the transactions: Edit QIF - with ImportQIF

    I ragged out in a private message on the PC Financial Facebook page a couple of hours ago. I just this minute received the following, so we'll see what happens now. Maybe some heads have started to roll at PC MasterCard.

    "Hey Bud, in this case we understand Quicken is a very important concern and we are escalating all feedback regarding this issue. We are always re-evaluating updates based on customer comments. MH"  I replied with "Ok MH, when I go to London on Friday morning to another appointment, I plan on stopping at COSTCO and signing up for their MasterCard. If this isn't resolved by then, it's 'Adios amigos'."

    Thought that came to mind... has anyone ever tried using Express Web/Quicken Connect instead? Just wondering if this might still be a viable choice (though not holding out for that).

    (If you find this reply helpful, please be sure to click "Like", so others will know, thanks.)

    I just use the qif option for quicken and was also disappointed to see that option removed from PC Mastercard. Don't know if anyone else has tried this but I installed the XLTGIF addin to Excel and it converts a CSV to GIF fairly painlessly once you find your way through it the first time.

    If you are going to use QIF files generated from CSV files, you need to see this thread: Edit QIF -manually

    BTW, you've got a typo, GIF files are image based, QIF is the financial import file type.

    Thanks for the correction. Re editing manually, XLTQIF appears to have been written to assist quicken users. It allows the user to select which CSV fields to include and whether it's a bank card, credit card, invert amounts, etc. Works good for me. And it's free.

    We are also very PO'd about this sudden change.  We received the same canned response by email.  When speaking with the help line yesterday they said, "Yet" but their written response indicates that they have absolutely no plans to include qfx, or qif formats for us.  As previously mentioned the loyalty rewards for using this card is very good and, in fact, was voted as the #1 loyalty program in Canada.  That doesn't matter to me if I can't download the transactions.

    yes, redesigned for cellphone and tablets, forgetting about desktop / laptop computer users.  :-\

    I agree with Chris Bright.

    Keep up the pressure. It may be the only way Quicken downloads will return.

    I contacted Capital One to make sure they have support for Quicken. Then I stopped at COSTCO yesterday and was immediately approved for a new card. As soon as I receive it in the mail, I'll contact all companies & utilities that I pay with PC MasterCard and inform them of my new card number. End of the line, President's Choice.

    I'm thinking Costco as well.

    If you use Rogers.com services, consider their Mastercard. 1.75% on all purchases as credit towards their services. If you charge their services to the card, they waive the $29/yr fee.

    @davidvh

    Whether it did work in Excel for Mac or not, Quicken for Mac can NOT import one of these QIF files.

    PC Financial has given many reasons for abandoning Quicken. It says their new web site is not compatible. It says they are focusing on features customers use.

    With regards to this last excuse, even HSBC allows mortgage data to be downloaded to Quicken.

    Mortgage data.

    How often, I wonder, do HSBC's customers download mortgage data to Quicken? Once, twice a month? Certainly not as often as one might download data from a savings or chequing account. Yet HSBC offers this service.

    When I switched to PC Financial MasterCard one of the main attractions was their web site's simplicity. It had everything I needed and was easy to navigate.

    Their new web site, as has been discussed, leaves a lot to be desired. Though it focuses on improving its appearance, it's failed miserably, in my opinion. Information is scattered, missing, and poorly laid out.

    Will PC Financial listen to its dissatisfied customers? Will it make improvements? Will it restore Quicken downloads and other missing data?

    I'm not holding my breath.

    Boy was I (beep). I called PC MC and tried to be as nice as possible to poor guy that had to take my call. I then sent a message to let them know what a stupid decision this was. I then spent two hours reviewing alternate MasterCard credit cards. (Thanks for the suggestions everyone). I went with BOM Cashback World Elite. The 1.5% cash back and travel benefits gave me the best options. I also need to continue to use MasterCard at PC and Costco. PC is just too darn convenient.  And I don't know that I want to get in bed with Rogers and the Capital One/Costco joint venture.

    The Bank of Montreal application process was a breeze. I've never dealt with them before. But I don't want anything to do with PC MasterCard again.

    Thanks to everyone that contributed to the thread.

    BTW - I use [removed] on a MAC.

    Also I know that BMO will support quicken export. I wasn't sure about Capital One and Rogers.

    I also spoke to support person who you could tell had no idea what I was talking about. She kept trying to tell me how to download the app to my phone and then after she figured out I wanted to download the transactions she showed me how to download my statement into a .pdf and said I could convert it whatever other format I wanted. LOL

    When I used the online message I got pretty much the same answer everyone else has received.
    I will be changing cards shortly if there is no indication that this will be fixed quickly.

    Very poor decision PC Mastercard.

    Same experience here - you'd think with all of the backlash of upset customers the CS staff would be well acquainted with the downloadable file formats and what customers are requesting.  It is a BASIC feature of credit cards to provide downloadable data - I am so upset that I have to go through the process of researching and applying for another credit card.  Stupid business move on their part if you ask me.

    Totally agree!!  I would love to know what percentage of PC Mastercard customers use Quicken.  I'm guessing a small percentage but quality customers I'm sure.

    So, I had a few minutes to spare today... and to avoid
    manually entering a bunch of transactions, I made a little utility program to
    convert PC Financial’s Mastercard CSV download to a .qif file.

    I’m willing to share this for those who want to do a few
    last imports before they move to a new card or just want to keep using it. I
    give no warranties or support. It’s an “AS IS” kind of thing.

    Now, importing .qif files kind of suck because it doesn’t
    really do anything with auto-matching or balances. It’s just away to import
    some transactions (at least you don’t have to type it all). So, when you save your
    transactions from PC Financial, you’ll need to make sure you’re not downloading
    transactions you’ve already imported. I always recommend making a backup before trying something.

    If I could figure out a way to direct message people on here
    you could get in contact with me and I can send it to you... Can anyone assist
    with that? (I’m new to this site).

    Even if you can load a .csv file, There is no simple way to download all the transactions since the last time to downloaded.

    "Please note, CSV files can only be imported to update security prices."

    This from the Quicken website
