Quicken 2019 Deluxe reminder functionality broken

I'm using Quicken 2019 for Windows, version R17.6, build 27.1.17.6.

I'm catching up on filling in some data for 2018 and just set up a paycheck using Planning->Tax Center->Add Paycheck. That part seemed to work fine.

After adding the paycheck, a reminder status was shown next to my checking account as expected. Clicking on the reminder took me to the screen to enter the past due transactions. However, the screen was blinking, some of the graphics were corrupted, and nothing could be selected nor could I go back or even close Quicken in a normal manner. Task Manager showed that Quicken was not responding. I had to use Task Manager to end Quicken.

I went back into Quicken and tried clicking on the reminder again. This time, the graphics were still corrupted. Mot all of the reminders showed, though they would if I clicked where they were supposed to be located on the screen. There was no blinking this time, and I could select the Enter button for a transaction.

Due to the corruption on the screen, I decided not to use this feature. I quit Quicken and then reopened it and restored the backup I made yesterday. For now, I will not set up paychecks in this manner but will enter them as regular transactions with the appropriate splits. This may limit some tax planning, but the screen corruption (and reports I've read online about paycheck data going missing) doesn't instill confidence in this part of the program.

I'm not sure why it doesn't show up on this page, but someone named Quicken Harold replied on 1/16 (I got it via email) and said the following:

    "Hello
I read your problem and i think that is a Quicken configuration problem, we are

very sorry for the inconvenience. On behalf of our team i can suggest, you can

contact our Quicken customer service for the instant help at +1 (845) 2xx-5xxx our technician will assist you further.
    Thank You!"

I haven't called customer service, because I already entered all the paychecks manually. However, if the problem occurs again when I try the functionality again, I'll call them then.

Just a thought, though, having been a software engineer for 26 years or so, though it is possible that a configuration problem could cause the behavior I experienced, it would mean that the configuration problem wasn't handled well by the software. At best, Quicken should recognize a bad configuration and pop up a message stating something relevant. It shouldn't lock up and/or corrupt the screen. Just my two cents... :-). Thanks!

Thanks for the info. I actually didn't contact them. They must have gotten my information somehow, since all I did was post the original problem then got a response from "Quicken Harold" via email. Strange... Thanks for letting me know that it's a scam. I'll avoid him and won't call the number.

There is a real Quicken Harold on this forum but his tag will include "Official Rep". And the problem is this site allows duplicate names.

The scammer did not get your info. GetSat automatically sends out an e-mail notification to anyone following a discussion thread. The scammers figured this out and all they have to do is post a reply and you get the info.
