    Hello lecy. Appreciate your question.

Unfortunately, Quicken for Mac does not support invoicing. The invoice options are available for Quicken 2019 Home Business and Rental for Windows.

You can import copy or move your current .QDF file from Windows 7 into Mac. When you install the software, just follow the steps to Start from a Quicken for Windows file.

    Hope this information is helpful.

    Respectfully,
    ~ Quicken Harold.

If you decide to migrate your data, you do need to convert. If your data is from QW2010 or newer, the mechanics are quite simple...copy data file over to Mac. Open data file with QMac. The built-in conversion process will step you through but there are a few things you need to know; here is the entire process:
    https://getsatisfaction.com/quickencommunity/topics/faq-converting-from-quicken-for-windows-includin...
Since you did not specify which version you are currently using, review all the prep and background info before:
    https://www.quicken.com/support/things-do-converting-your-data-quicken-mac-2016

If you need to use an intermediary version, as mentioned on that page, instead of getting QW2010, you can try using QW2013 available from Quicken for FREE here: https://www.quicken.com/support/how-and-when-use-intermediate-version-convert-older-versions-quicken
(that first page needs to be updated  ;-)  )

NOTE: Be aware that at this time, it is very difficult to convert back from Mac to Windows, as there are many problems with the reverse conversion process.

I also suggest that you make sure that Quicken for Mac subscription will meet your needs, since it was re-written from the ground up (first with Quicken Essentials in 2010, then again with QM2015 onward) and is not the same product as the Windows version, so there are some features that are still not there e.g. full loan amortization*, 2-line display, QuickMath, or are not as fully developed yet, e.g. Customized Reports, some investment performance reports and stats  (therefore some data may not carry over). You can start here:
    http://www.quicken.com/mac/compare
    https://www.quicken.com/whats-new-quicken
    https://www.quicken.com/mac/upgrader-compare

*NOTE: Support for fixed rate loans has been released as of  QM2017 v4.5.x but there is no announced timing for support for variable rate or simple daily interest loans.

You may want to review the List of Obstacles and Hindrances for Migrating from QM2007 or QWin to Quicken for Mac. Add your vote to any features that are missing for you. Your VOTES matter!

Be aware of data that will and will not carry forward:
    https://www.quicken.com/support/what-data-gets-carried-over
(A couple more things to note: historical currency rates are not migrated AND currency conversions of transactions are not migrated; also invoicing data).

Then look at the updates since the original release here:
    https://www.quicken.com/support/20182019-release-quicken-mac-subscription-product-release-notes
You will also want to look at a more detailed comparison done by a SuperUser which also identifies nuances not mentioned elsewhere (and read on for comments from other users too on that same discussion thread):
    https://getsatisfaction.com/quickencommunity/topics/can-anyone-who-has-switched-from-2007-to-2015-he...
Take a look at the following videos to give you a better idea:
    https://www.youtube.com/user/QuickenMac

Note that there are many differences that are rather subtle, that are not necessarily identifiable via documentation, for example, the 12-month budget feature does not allow including transfers, including investment income, selecting specific accounts,  or have rollover capability.

If you find that QMac subscription does not meet your needs, the alternative is to run Quicken for Windows in a virtual machine on your Mac. There are 5 popular products you can use: Parallels, VMWare Fusion, Oracle VirtualBox, Bootcamp or CrossOver. The first 4 require you to also buy a copy of Windows. The first 2 cost $50-80, the third and forth are free. CrossOver also costs about $50-$80 but does NOT require you to buy Windows.

If you plan to keep your PC & Mac, you could also run Quicken on the PC and use remote access (several free options, e.g. NoMachine and Teamviewer) to access Quicken from your Mac  (or even a tablet or phone) (see this great article for complete review of many options (most are free): http://machow2.com/rdp-for-mac/ ).

lecy, there's a lot of information above with potentially useful information, but I wanted to make sure you got a straightforward answer to your original question about invoicing on the Mac version: no. The key is that there is a Home & Business version of Windows, but no such version for Mac. The invoicing functionality is in the Home & Business version only. You can import your Windows data into Quicken Mac, but you won't have the invoicing and other capabilities of the Home & Business version.

thank you for your reply/addition, and I need now to something that now comes to mind as your answer implies. So when i get the win7/QKN into the Imac/QKN which doesnt have the invoicing, the invoices that have already been created in the win7/version, would I be able to open those or would they be lost in the Imac/QKN?
Also, I figure then I will be needing to attempt my other option, QUICKBOOKS for Imac! does anyone here know how to create, that is after it is all installed and ready to use, a "business account" within Imac/quickbooks to be able then to create an invoice for that "business" for monies owed? As was done in WIN7/QKN, but trying now to do the same in Imac/QBKS, to be able to do the invoicing that is not possible with Imac/QKN. And does all QUICKBOOKS for IMAC have invoicing, PLUS possible to convert that WIN7.... into and use with any QUICKBOOK version?
[i hope i said that right for someone to try and help me, or guide me to where I can that help.]

There are NO invoicing features in Quicken Mac, period. You will not be able to see them, open them, or print them. If you need the invoices, you would need to run Quicken Windows Home & Business, either on a Windows PC or on a Mac running a Windows virtual machine environment (such as Parallels or Fusion).

As for moving to Quickbooks, you'd really have to go to a Quickbooks forum to explore that. They are completely separate products; this site is only about Quicken. to the best of my knowledge, there is no path from Quicken Windows to Quickbooks for Mac, but I really don't know much about any Quickbooks capabilities. Again, you should search for a Quickbooks forum and post your questions about that product over there.

Harold already mentioned that there is no invoicing functionality in QMac.

But on top of that, I don't know much about the invoicing functionality in QWin but I would suspect that there is additional info added to create these. As such, though you may end up preserving the transaction data, I strongly suspect you would lose any invoice specific data too.

thank you, that was very detailed and right on point with all that I was trying to find out, and figure out. As to why QUICKEN was left out concerning invoicing, I may never know. if a business uses any software, then most of them one time or another would need to make an invoice, I it seems to left with only one option, get and start using QUICKBOOKS/Imac, since it has already been decided that we shall be now using an IMAC. I at this point am now hoping that is able to do the invoicing that I require.
thank you again for your assistance, and to everyone that tried to help me with my little problem, it is not even FEB yet, so a very happy and healthy 2019 for all,
    HOWARD

Also be aware that Quickbooks does not handle investments, if that is important to you.
