What color are the numbers in your balance column of that account?

    Glendon,
What Q product are you running? What Build? And, what color is your balance column?

I have same problem with credit card  payments

So,  is the payment making your Red (i.e., negative ... which is what it's supposed to be) balance closer to $0 ... less negative?

And, have you tried validating your Q data file?

Also, if you could provide a snapshot of a portion of the CC account that shows this problem, it would be helpful.  Try the Validations before the snapshot.

  • I'm running Quicken Deluxe 2019 for MAC.  Same issue: payments to cc accounts just getting added to the balance.  Anyone have a solution to this?

Same problem. All my red (negative) credit card tranactions are being subtracted in the credit card balance. I've used Quicken since the 90's and this is a new one for me. Any answers out there? I'm using Windows 10, Quicken 2017 version R19.1. It's only happening on one of my 3 credit card accounts. The other 2 add to the credit card balance as it should.

Is your credit card account register properly sorted by Date in ascending order (newest transactions at bottom of register)?
Click the Date column header to sort the register. Clicking it again toggles the sort order between ascending and descending sort order.
There should be a little triangle appearing next to the Date column header, indicating sort order.
What credit card company are you having problems with?
Can you please capture one or more images of the parts of your Quicken window showing the issue, sensitive information blacked out as necessary to protect your privacy but annotated to describe the situation, and attach the image(s) here?
The Windows Snipping Tool (available with Windows 7 and up) can be used to capture a partial screen image and save it to a file.  Microsoft Paint can be used to annotate the image.

To attach the image here, start composing your reply in the "Type your comment" box at the bottom of the webpage. At the top of the text entry window  you'll see a row of icons beginning with B I S
Click the "Attach image" icon (the one that looks like a tiny landscape with mountain and sun). It will allow you to select and upload the captured image file(s) from your computer. The captured image(s) will be inserted at wherever the cursor is located in the text.

  • The only account I'm having this reversal balance problem in from Citibank. I validated my quicken file and no problems detected. Here's is a snap shot of a part of the Citibank credit card. Good luck.

    Thanks for the image.
Did you notice that the Running Balance (the right-most column in your snapshot) is black? If you owe money in a credit card account, the running balance should be red (negative).
If you owe money to the bank, please review your credit card account register and find out why you're running an "overpaid (aka credit) balance". Did you record a credit card payment transaction twice?

For future reference, and to anybody else who might be responding with snapshots, please do include the top portion of the credit card register with the three Filter fields and the Column headers. Thank you.
