You know what I would like to see? An end to a pop up to upgrade every single time I launch my software I paid for already. You're treating it like it's shareware but I already paid.
Your program is way to flawed to charge the amount you do. Make it less expensive or the program better to justify your pricing. I am using Quicken for years and with all the flaws it kills productivity. Upsetting to fix constantly all the problems.
You should have let Intuit run the show. You guys make changes that are unnecessary.

I'm not sure there is much profit in trying to build a quality software product when you only get paid for it every 2 to 3 years. That's 2 to 3 years of developer salaries you have to pay out hoping you get 50 bucks from somebody.
I would like features that allow me to customize line items in my registers. Things such as changing certain entry colors that will allow me to use as reminders... the flags are too small and nondescript.
I bought the 2019 upgrade for Quicken, having used Quicken for more than 20 years. When I tried to install the upgrade, it removed all of my data as well as my then current version of Quicken (actually the most recent prior upgrade). It then told me I could not install the 2019 version. So I've lost everything I ever had on Quicken. I do not recommend it for anyone.

I’m more than willing to pay for a real upgrade. This wasn’t one of them. As subscription allows them to become very lazy. The cash flow continues no matter the quality.
Well, I called the other day because my brokerage and IRA accounts with Vanguard had incorrect information and I was on the phone for almost 45 minutes with no success. The representative suggested calling by phone and giving control to someone there, but I'm not comfortable doing that with my financial info which includes passwords. I had to just make up transactions to correct the situation. I think you could do better.
Thanks for the update. Still waiting for you guys to provide a year-end archive feature in the Mac version similar to what has been available in Windows for years.
Please go back to letting me buy the software and then decide if you make enough improvements to upgrade. I do not agree with your yearly subscription pricing.
I understand but at any time they can update and lock you out of your files...

You did not contact official Quicken Support. Quicken support cannot take control over your computer...they are only allowed to view your data with your permission but nothing more.
We have your product, and I am unable to generate a cash flow report. I called your customer service...sat on hold for 26min and on the phone with a rep for 1hr, and it was not resolved. Told me to send in a ticket. I have done that.....twice. I have heard nothing and have not seen any fixes to this problem. This report is important for my job. I would very much like this resolved. I started this process in Dec, and I am getting discouraged that anyone is willing to help me here.
I have been using Quicken for more than 10 years. The thing I would like to see improved is the Debt Reduction planning tool. There are literally hundreds of complaints about it in the community forums and my complaints are no different. It doesn't update daily, it doesn't accurately pull in balances, it doesn't account for when I make an extra payment until the month rolls over. It would be nice to see a daily picture!
Been a Quicken user since late 1980's...so I feel I am a good judge of this product. A major feature of Quicken since around 2002 is to be able to use Direct Connect and Transfer/Pay Bills. Quicken has always in my experience...done this well. I have overtime seen Banks taking away DD or not offering it to New customers and for me, that is a concern going forward. Might one or more of my Banks discontinue DirectConnect.
However, for years Quicken personalization features have been absent, or useless. Quicken introduced Classic and Large Font Menu item some years back; for me, its useless. The Classic is too small; Large is the other extreme, too Large. There needs to be a few setting between Classic and Large. This View Setting of course has no impact on Investment Registers which with aging Users (again, been using Q since late 80's) is really getting to be a strain on the eyes. Looking at Users at the Q site where Users can Vote on what they want going forward; enhanced appearance and Personalizations of the software gets a high number of Votes.
For years I have asked, with no explanation, every time I create a New Acct in Q, that acct is automatically ADDED to EVERY Created/Saved Report...WHY????? So when I create a new acct I must go thru all my SAVED accts and delete the New Acct from that Report. WHY???again I ask??????
Long time Loyal customers need to feel appreciated... as other have written, a Special pricing needs to be offered to the long Term Loyal customers....lets so those using/purchasing consecutive/uninterrupted versions of Q in excess of 5 or 7 years. Most younger Banking folks I have spoken with over the years would much rather just use Banking Online sites to do their Banking rather than software...the Banks sites are FREE, Quicken comes with an Expense. So taking care of those that are loyal...should be a priority with Quicken.
Eric it is great that you send out releases, something that was not done prior to your arrival and please keep it up. But, I have not experienced any of the improvements mentioned, my Quicken works the same way it did last year, 5 years ago and so forth. I very much want to see and Use something New, something helpful....working on the Fonts personalization of all Text...Bank Registers, Investment Accts, stop New accts from being added to Saved reports, etc...as I have outlined above, will keep me a customer of Quicken.....need some real help on Appearance......
The share your screen feature.....not a good thing at all. I have no reason not to trust Q employees; its a matter of good Security....never disclose Personal Financial information to others....Golden Rule of Financial Security
Hi Eric, Last time I updated, "Quicken found a damaged scheduled reminder and removed it. Please check your scheduled reminders by going to Tools>Manage Bills and Income Reminders." Quicken did not give me any way to find out exactly which scheduled reminder it had deleted. That piece of data was lost forever. Would you at least ensure that during the next upgrade, Quicken will tell me which reminder it has deleted so that I can reenter it after the upgrade, please?
I have a 2007 Mac version of Quicken. I use it solely for record keeping on my computer. I do not do online stuff with Quicken. I would guess I am way over due for an upgrade and would like to know the best way to upgrade and what to do. I have a mac desk top computer. Thank you Blaine Bolton
Last March 26 I purchased a 2 year subscription to Quicken. When I tried to import my data from Quicken 2007 an error message said that it was not possible to import from Quicken 2007. So I went back to Quicken 2007 and have used that since. Does anyone know if this problem was fixed? Can I now import from Quicken 2007? I use Quicken only for manually keeping track of checking, cash, and credit card accounts. I don't use it online at all. Thanks. MacBook Pro Mid-2018 15 inch 2.6GHz 6‐core 8th‐generation Intel Core i7 processor OS X 10.14 Memory: 32 GB
I accept the need for Quicken to generate income through subscriptions rather than selling a once and for-all version. But you must add value at regular increments to continue with that model.
I would like a module that would walk me through setting up reports to aid in collecting data for filling upcoming income tax. Not just checking that an expenditure qualifies for a certain line on a 1040, but (in January) I could check categories, individual transactions and a special designation. I find the current report design tool to be very precise to the extent that blank reports are produced three, four or five times before a useable one is produced.
In investments, a simple way/preprogrammed to handle normal or purchased CDs. That is, something other than an accountant-inspired 'return of capital' at maturity. Work with firms like Merrill Edge so that the interface with Quicken does not generate a number of unuseable entries that have to be deleted. I admit that Merrill's processes were developed when computers were accessed with batches of punch cards, but they are popular firm.
The pay bills via Quicken competes with free services from banks. Banks, on the other hand, are making feeble efforts to offer budgeting and expense tracking services. But only for one account at a time. Tune your offerings to compete better with those efforts. It is frustrating to try to delete an entry and receive a dialogue box that prompts a more complicated way.
Yes, a reworked budgeting tool would relieve me of building one in Excel.
Mr. Dunn,
I'm a longtime, old-fashioned user. I understand and accept the corporate need to enhance the product and integrate it into modern user technology. Can you find a way to do this without casting out those few of us who want to retain the local data-storage method, have no desire for online interactive data processes, and thus don't want to subscribe annually? At age 70, that's who I am and don't expect to change. I am using the new Quicken program model without re-subscribing, and I'm still happy with the product but unhappy that the subscription reminder banners occupy space and my attention at the top and right-side borders of the screen.
Customer loyalty deserves some consideration, doesn't it? Thanks. Arnold Levinson
I have been a long time continuous user of Quicken (over 20 years) and have paid for every upgrade every year even before the new subscription model went into effect. Quicken is a great product, and thank you for pushing to make it even better.
One significant issue with Quicken that has existed for many years yet has never been addressed is its Reports > Spending > Itemized Categories report customization UI. After creating any report and going back to the customization UI to make adjustments, the UI is almost entirely unsuable. If there are any multi-nested levels of categories, the UI literally hides all of the category names from sight. The only way to find them is to randomly poke around by hovering over all of the hidden lines and find out what each line is supposed to be saying and actually is. PLEASE have your team address this terrible UI flaw. We run reports frequently, and the Quicken UI is extremely broken from a usability perspective on this feature.
Please see screen snip below, for reference, to see the problem. As you can see in the picture, NONE of the category names are visible. This is showing how categories with 4 nested sub-levels appear in the UI.
Other than that aggravating design flaw, please keep up the good work.
Comment directed to Quicken about Quicken for MAC ====> ENABLE EXCHANGE RATES in between account in different currencies and the related features such as the production of reports in the base currency (or another selected currency)!
I was hoping you could finally get Wells Fargo to talk to my program without my having to disconnect then reconnect every single day I want to update my balances. This has been going on at least two years!

That is just FUD and is inaccurate. That said, if you are using the Starter edition, the data does become read-only if you let your subscription membership expire. You cannot edit anything until you renew.

If you could only solve the Quicken BillPay account setup delays. Been waiting for approval of a new payment account for over a month. Subsequently set up a new BillPay account after subscribing to new Quicken service. That was 13 business days ago.
Calls to service center do not resolve the delays.
I have been waiting over 3 months for QBP to verify with no end in sight. Absolutely The worst decision I made was to buy the 2 year program. I am still getting billed $9.95 a month for the old service.
I recently changed the password on one of my bank accounts. I know it works because I have used it several times. When I try to change the password in Quicken, it isn't accepted and consequently, no new transactions.Help pls.

I use to use a Windows computer and have moved over to the Mac version. While the Mac version itself has gotten better, please keep working on getting it to work the same as Windows. Overall, I like the product although I don't use all of its features.
