Installed update this morning

Quicken auto installed an update this morning when I opened Quicken.  Now I have no access to the category in any account.

If you haven't rebooted Windows since you installed the latest software update, please do so now and then try Quicken again.

    What Quicken version?
    What Windows version?
More details about the problem, please.
Can you please capture one or more images of the parts of your Quicken window showing the issue, sensitive information blacked out as necessary to protect your privacy but annotated to describe the situation, and attach the image(s) here?
The Windows Snipping Tool (available with Windows 7 and up) can be used to capture a partial screen image and save it to a file.  Microsoft Paint can be used to annotate the image.

Please create image files of type PNG, JPG or GIF only.
To attach the image here, start composing your reply in the "Type your comment" box at the bottom of the webpage. At the top of the text entry window  you'll see a row of icons beginning with B I S
Click the "Attach image" icon. It will allow you to select and upload the captured image file from your computer. The captured image will be inserted at wherever the cursor is located in the text.

    I am using windows 10 and quicken 2019 version R 18.5 Build 27.1.18.15.
Before this mornings update I could go to the category column in any banking account.  If I clicked on the category box it high lighted and there are two options.  One to edit the contents of the category and one to  show a report of the spending in that category.  The one that shows the spending in that category works fine.  The one that should show edit possibilities for the category does nothing when I click on it.  I did reboot my system and that had no effect on this problem.

Thank  You for Your Response.  I have been a Quicken user for for close to 30 years and have been happy with the product.  I hope this problem can be resolved quickly.

I suspect the Quicken program installation may have become corrupted.  I suggest you perform a Windows reboot.  If the issue persists, I suggest you perform a clean uninstall, install and update.  If you haven’t already, you may want to review: https://www.quicken.com/support/using-qcleanui-uninstall-quicken.

Not sure I am looking at the same thing - Q2019 Windows - (always learning)
running Q2019 - just updated to R18.15 - and I'm not seeing any probs - so far -
Do you mean looking down the Category column and selecting a transaction, and clicking THAT category box ?  - It has the "down arrow", which brings up the Category List, and the "chart" which brings up a small pop-up report of that category.

That is it! When I click on the down arrow nothing happens and if I click on the empty box I believe Quicken used to help me fill it in.  i.e. if I enter a "B" it will help me choose which "B" word to use

Sherlock  I will look into your solution.  That is one of the things I had thought about.  Thanks for the link to the instructions.
  • After upgrading I am experiencing the exact same issue
  • I have 2 monitors with different resolutions. Works on High res, not on lower res monitor. In my case it looks like a windows display issue, not quicken

Thank you tsummerl.  I just completed what sherlock suggested and had the same problem.  So I checked the community and found your suggestion which worked.  I have a laptop with a 2nd monitor.  I have always used the monitor and had no problem until the last update.  I still have the same problem on the 2nd monitor but it works fine on my laptop screen.  Strange how these things work or don,t
