Add Ability to Consolidate Categories

I have been a Quicken user for a very long time and had originally created all my own categories. I like the way that Quicken has now set up all its default categories and would like to move or consolidate some of my original categories into some of the new default categories provided by Quicken. It would be great if there were some kind of tool available to do that.

There is! It's just not easy to discover. The trick is to go to Window > Categories, and double-click on the Category you want to merge into another one. Edit the name to be the same as the Category you want to merge it with, and you'll get this dialog box:
If you're sure you're ready to proceed, click the Merge Them button and the categories will be merged.
(I suggest making a backup of your Quicken data file before you do this, so if you realize you've messed something up, you can fall back to your backup.)Quicken Mac Subscription • Quicken user since 19934 -
