Downloaded balance incorrect

When I reconcile an account, the "online balance" is incorrect.  Both quicken and my bank balance are in sync, but the reconcile screen has the wrong "online balance".  Quicken wants me to add an adjustment transaction.  Why would the downloaded "online balance" not match the actual online balance from the bank website?  This is happening with three accounts, two Amex, one local bank.

    Are there any pending transactions that make up for the difference between what Quicken has and what the bank has?

    If you select an account and go to settings in the bottom right-hand corner, what is the connection type listed for the Amex account? 

    What are the name of the bank and the connection type of the local bank?
