Syncing with bank account

I am confused.  Here is my scenario:  I manually enter a payment in Quicken.   I then go online to my bank billpay system and setup that same payment.  Then when I go to Quicken and click Update Now, Quicken connects to my bank and syncs which results in two transactions in Quicken.  I then have to manually delete the transaction I had manually entered.

Should I simply not manually enter these transactions since they are captured once the sync takes place?

    Yes, it is best not to manually enter transactions, as Quicken cannot electronically connect the download with the manually entered info.  It is best to only rely on downloaded entries.
