category is not in expenses

I have an expense (money out) category that is in the income (money in) section and I am unable to switch it. Help!

    Hello Felice,

Where are you seeing this? Where are you unable to change this category?

Is this the parent category or the subcategory?

Let us know so we can get this resolved!

Also, WHAT, if any, tax line is associated with this category?

Felice, this generally happens due to one of two reasons: (1) the category is actually defined as income rather than expense, or (2) while the category is an expense, a credit in the account creates a "negative expense", and some Quicken reports then show the entire category under Money In. (#1 is easy to quickly rule out just by opening the Widow > Categories window and making sure the category in question shows that the Type is Expense.)
