Deluxe vs H&B for investment tracking (Q Win Canada)

My Canadian Home and Business version has come up for renewal. I have this version because i think at one time you needed it for investment functionality, but I don't use the business functions. The comparison info seems to indicate Deluxe has investment tracking, but also seems to suggest some reporting is only available through H & B. Can somebody tell me if I need H & B to track my portfolio and measure returns? is the functionality split between them, and why would they do that? if I downgrade and find I have to go back up, how badly would that mess up my records?

No, Deluxe has robust Investment tracking. The difference between Deluxe and Premier (US) is minimal for investments. There are a few more in-depth reports/charts that are missing, but most won't notice. I've often switched between Deluxe and Premier over the years. If you absolutely do not need H&B functions, Deluxe should meet your needs.
