Problems Connecting to Fifth Third Bank

After years of downloading his Fifth Third Bank transactions to Quicken, my dad is suddenly unable to download. I tried to help him troubleshoot by deleting the connection and re-activating it. However, when I tried to reactivate, I received the following message: "Sorry. We encountered an error. (It's not your fault.) Quicken is having trouble connecting to Fifth Third Bank - NEW."
I opened the connection log, and the last entry looks like this:
20190828 15:46:52: QFN: Beginning send to https://banking.53.com/ofx/OFXServlet
20190828 15:46:52: ***QFN kQFFinished: returns 67305972
20190828 15:46:52: We’re sorry, the server is experiencing an internal error. Try again now, or wait and try later.
20190828 15:46:52: QFN: End send to https://banking.53.com/ofx/OFXServlet, netstatus 30

Any suggestions for fixing this?

I just got this fixed yesterday after months of trying different things. IT IS a Quicken issue at THEIR servers. Something about a "block". I do have the latest patch mentioned in the link above but did not fix my issue. They can only fix it for you after reviewing your logs (that you'll provide).
Call support and mention this so they can escalate to Tier 3 immediately without wasting time trying the basic things that don't work.
I got lucky I got a great person to help me.

The financial institution is responsible for their server. If the issue persists, I suggest you contact Fifth Third Bank.0

Thanks. I contacted Fifth Third Bank's Quicken team, who told us that if the error message says, "It's not your fault," this means the issue is with Quicken's servers. He also talked to Quicken support, who blamed Fifth Third.
I was skeptical of the bank's response, but the one thing that gave it credence is I notice that Quicken has posted an alert saying that many users are getting "it's not your fault" errors when trying to update transactions. The alert says: "We've identified the root cause of this issue and are working with our providers to resolve this issue as quickly as possible."

This made me wonder whether the issue I am having is related to this known issue.0 -
