Two thoughts I have that I believe would improve Quicken:
1) Why not have 'Save' simply pop up after making an entry? Like it does in other programs we use. This small change would save a great deal of time not having to look for the save icon then move cursor to it every time you make an entry or change---in any artea. .
2) What my wife and I find particularly annoying and time-consuming is that all old records stay in the active year. No matter what we 'archive' all past years of entries are always with us. Whether working in a banking or brokerage account, I really find it annoying that we have to click in, every time, that we want the current month or year.
Bottom line: For the typical homeowner, there is no need for the records from 6
or 7 years ago to be onscreen. ...I.E. this is true under spending, accounts, etc.
Can a simple command be put in at end of year to move the year's entries to a logical location in one stroke. That way the few times we may need to go back to old records, finding same would be easy.
For us, currently it is not,--- under the so-called archiving method. It would be great if the year's records could be saved, at end of year, in a logical and easy way---and, have it just as easy to get to past years, should one want to.
Thanks for listening.

re: point 1. There's a green "disk icon" to the immediate fight of the amount field. Are you not seeing that?re: point 2. If your spending account is RECONCILED, you can use "Year end copy" to remove reconciled accounts prior to a date of your choosing. It doesn't, however, remove reconciled investment transactions.re: your moving transactions comment, you can sort your registers on any column by clicking on that column header, and reverse the sort order by clicking again. Are you not seeing that/Q user since DOS version 5
