What is the problem currently with not being able to download American Express into Quicken Canada?

For over a week now I have been unable to download my data from my American Express account into my Quicken 2019 Home & Business. AmEx simply says they're working on it, but what is the problem?

I don't know about the Canadian AmEx website, but US users had to make some changes recently, because AmEx US changed the way the account numbers are compared between your Quicken register and the AmEx server. Instead of (look in Edit Account Details, General tab) storing a masked credit card number (XXX1234), they now use a long string of apparently encrypted characters followed by "|" and the last 5 digits of your credit card number.To effect this change, all I had to do was to click "Reset Account" in the Online Services tab. That allowed me to re-LINK my existing account register with the account found at the website, based on that new character string.
Try to Reset your account. If that doesn't work for you, deactivate and then reactivate your account in Quicken.0 -
Been trying several ways (suggestions) to update my Amex card transactions. The most recent result is when I click "Update Now" in the menu from within the Quicken Amex account screen it sends me to the home page of the Amex Canada website. I'm using latest version of Quicken (just updated today) on Win 10.0

I contacted Amex Canada a few days ago. They know they are having a big problem with Quicken downloads and are indeed "working on it". I haven't been able to download statement data since October 12th. The support staff offered to reset my Amex account in the hopes of a possible fix but I could lose all current and historic data. I chose not to do that for now. She claimed it has worked for a small number of customers but wouldn't elaborate or give me specific numbers. I chose to wait until they have resolved this on their own. She did say they would put up a notification on my account when it is resolved. We'll see.

I have been getting the following message since some time early in October when I click on "Export Statement Data" on the Amex site. I also contacted them directly and was offered a "reset" but declined. They also wouldn't admit that they were having a problem.
Time to abandon Amex!

No change as of November 16. No downloads of any type are working.0

I been having this problem for over a month now . But as of tonight Nov 19/19
I was finally able to download transaction to My American Express Acct. in Quicken. I believe the problem has been fixed.1 -
