Cannot unselect Open at Login on the Quicken Icon (Q Mac)

I am unable to unselect the Open At Login option on the Quicken Icon. This has been an issue for some time. I also cannot access Quicken Support Chat for Mac Users to discuss this issue. I made the mistake of selecting it and now it will not unselect. It is very aggravating. Anyone have any idea what else I can do - other than contacting Apple Support, that is?

You are correct that this is more of an Apple support issue than Quicken. Try completing the steps listed in the first solution at this link:
macOS: 3 Ways to Stop Apps from Auto Opening on Startup ...https://www.macbookproslow.com › how-to-stop-auto-launch-apps
If that doesn't do it, there is probably a corrupted preference or settings file somewhere. The first step will be to restart the Mac and try again. Next, restart the Mac with the shift key held down during startup and during login. Then see if you can uncheck the "open at login" menu item.
If none of that works, I would try to create a 2nd user account for test purposes and see if you can select and deselect the open at login item in that account. If it works in the 2nd account, but not in the first, that indicates that the corruption is within your user profile somewhere. That's a start at tracking it down.
Another thing you could try is to reinstall macOS. This will not affect any of your data. Here are the instructions for that:
