Could not add a new security

I have 290-300 securities - not all active. When I tried to add a new security Quicken 2016 Home and Business closed. No data lost. Is there a maximum number of securities that I have reached? Is there a workaround?

If you haven't already, you may want to review:

Thx - if 2000 stocks (securities) is the limit that should not have been the problem.
I just updated to latest release for 2016 - R7 25.1.7.9
I was able to delete a number of securities with no transactions in the file.
Apparently I cannot archive any investment transations regardless of how many years ago they took place even if the current quantity of that security is 0.
I will wait and see what happens next time I have a new security to add.1 -
I have the same problem! Every time I enter a new security, Quicken2016 simply closes - very frustrating. I have found a workaround - enter the Security in the security list first and then select the new security in the register for a buy. That seems to allow entry of the new security. It is very annoying though thta this just started for me as well.0
