Delete account

I have a HP computer and I am showing $50k cash in my portfolio summary which is actually non existent but I cannot delete.

How do you delete this?

    Please provide the year and version of Quicken being used: select Help > About Quicken

    I suggest reconciling the accounts in the portfolio summary against statements from the financial institutions to determine the transactions contributing to the non existent cash.

    The cash is usually associated with some transaction/s that may not have properly accounted for the cash being deposited and then used for a Buy - or a Sell transaction that also didn't properly account for where the cash went...

    It is not an account just the name cash $5ok but there is not associated plus or minus.
    I cannot get quicken to let me push delete

    You need to go to the account associated with that cash balance listed in the Portfolio View.  There, you can investigate WHY you have a cash balance and, if necessary, you can delete any transactions from there.

    You can NOT create, add, edit or delete any transaction from the Portfolio View.

    When I go to the account there is no cash showing 50k only when I get the portfolio viee

    Then you need to do some investigating.  Is there a Cash Balance at the bottom of the register?

    And do you have any Placeholder transactions in the investment register?

    Check Quicken's Help on how to resolve placeholders...or search this community for further help.

    I have no place holders

    There is a cash balance on everything I am in looking at like portfolio value or summary

    It is a default entry at 50k buy cannot how to delete

    Can you please capture one or more images of the parts of your Quicken window showing the issue, sensitive information blacked out as necessary to protect your privacy but annotated to describe the situation, and attach the image(s) here?
    The Windows Snipping Tool (available with Windows 7 and up) can be used to capture a partial screen image and save it to a file.  Microsoft Paint can be used to annotate the image.
