QWin usually crashes during backup

At the end of every session, I routinely back up my Q data to my C: drive. (A background backup copies changed files to my NAS drive every night.)
For the past several weeks, Q has been crashing during backup, giving the dialog to send crash data to Q staff.
Am I the only one, or are others experiencing this?
QWin R23.20.

I jumped straight from R23.18 to R23.21 ... and haven't seen such.

I've not experienced any issues with backups. Is there a reason you are not manually backing up directly to NAS? It works flawlessly for me and no additional processes.

I updated to R23.21 and will see whether this recurs.I back up to C: (a SSD) because it's faster and I back up more than once a day. My NAS spins down after a time, and I don't like waiting for it to spin up.This is on my old desktop machine recently upgraded from Win7 to Win10. I ran CHKDSK and there were a few messages which didn't look critical, but usually there are none.Quicken user since version 2 for DOS, now using QWin Premier Subscription on Win10 Pro.0

Grumble. I am still consistently crashing in 23.21 during manual backup. I have been sending dumps and logs into the black hole of doom. (Which I guess is better than the blue screen of death.)

@Rocket J Squirrel Do you have a mechanical
drive you could test for backup? Considering Quicken backups are one step removed from asking for a 3.5" floppy, maybe the SSD is too fast and somehow Quicken is not realizing it's done?

I've been using this machine with unchanged hardware for at least 8 years. No spinning disk attached. Q never had any trouble backing up until recently. If I restart Q after it crashes, backup works fine. Backup issues started around the time I upgraded the PC to Win10. Maybe I'll try running Q in Win7 compatibility mode, LOL.Quicken user since version 2 for DOS, now using QWin Premier Subscription on Win10 Pro.0 -
Stupid Vanilla changed my intent. I was asking if you have a mechanical D drive for test if it makes a difference, not a smiley face. If so, easy test. If not, then do what you are proposing.

I understood what Vanilla did with your D + colon.I have no mechanical disk drives other than my NAS.I have another Win10 machine I use for testing. I have been trying to reproduce the issue there because if I can reproduce it in a test version, I can report it as a bug. But so far, I can't reproduce it on my test machine using the same data file as on my production machine.Quicken user since version 2 for DOS, now using QWin Premier Subscription on Win10 Pro.0

I'll wrap this up. A complete QCleanUI + Registry cleaning + reinstall solved my backup problem. No more crashes. Could have been worse.
