keyboard shortcut for One Step Update

I would really like to have a keyboard shortcut for One Step Update. I know I can type Alt+T, U, but that's just using the keyboard to navigate the menus. It would be nice to have something like Ctrl+U.

EDIT: Keyboard shortcut exists BUT is not identified in the Tools menu. Quicken should add the Ctrl+1 shortcut to the Tools menu and update the built-in Help info.

    Ctrl+1

Note the shortcuts can be found with F1 -> Contents -> Appendixes -> Keyboard shortcuts

Hmmm. I notice they didn't put that shortcut on the tools menu.  They really should have it there too.

Weird, I looked in the keyboard shortcuts, and it isn't there. But Ctrl+1 does work.

Also, somebody edited my original post. That "EDIT:" up there wasn't added by me.

Well, I'll be.  I thought was in the help, but you are right it isn't there either.

Both should be updated (but I wouldn't hold your breath on it).

As for the edited message the moderators or SuperUsers can do that, and I guess someone thought it would make the question clearer.

It certainly wasn't me (I don't even have the permissions to do it)

Quicken must lack a user interface expert. There are many examples of flubs in the menus. There are many missing the "..." which indicates a dialog will appear rather than an action taken immediately. There's even a couple that have the "..." where it's not warranted. There are some missing underlined Alt letters. There are some that use the same Alt letter for multiple items in the same menu. All of these defects have persisted for many years. UI bugs are bugs. They just end up at the bottom of the priority list because they're not crashes or data corruption. It's too bad, because many of them are purely visual and would be trivial one-minute fixes.

From what I have seen in my career is that there are always the groups that are in "fire fight mode". As such they don't have time to go back and tend to these kinds of details.

If they send me the source files with the menu strings in them I'll fix them for free and send them back.

This one's my favorite. It uses P 3 times and A twice.
You know these are simply coded with ampersands, right? As in "&Portfolio" and "Investing &Accounts".

Yep it is a very simple change.  The One Step Update change is much more complicated, they have to type in Ctrl+1.  :)

Maybe they couldn't decide on where to move the ampersand to?
You know they get in a meeting and have one person say I think Portfolio should have the hot key of P and another one says no it definitely should be Performance that gets that hot key!  :)

I see it not so much making the question clearer, but rather making the "Idea" to the developers more accurate as to what we need from them.  It is not necessary to add a keyboard shortcut as much as to publicize the one that exists.

(I didn't do it either, but I might have given the opportunity.  @Procopio - these sort of edits do occur with no intent to misrepresent.  Sometimes editors will identify themselves, but not always.)

And wouldn't you think they would assign X to Portfolio X-Ray? Duh?

I didn't do it, either. :) Maybe the mods & admins can see edit history, but we SUs can't.

The existing shortcut for OSU is CTRL-1 (control-one).
BUT, this part of the request should be implemented:
Keyboard shortcut exists BUT is not identified in the Tools menu. Quicken should add the Ctrl+1 shortcut to the Tools menu and update the built-in Help info.

    I second that motion.
