Error extracting upgrade

I just purchased and downloaded the Quicken 2020 Deluxe (I currently have 2017) when I went to extract the download it says "error extracting the specified program". How can I fix this?

"Extracting", how are you extracting it?  The downloaded file is an install program, you should just double click on it to run it.
Using Quicken Subscription Premier (and have a copy of Starter to test things on)
  • I double clicked the exe and that’s the error that came up with a file path

Oh I see.  Well in that case my suggestion would be to reboot your machine and try it again.  If that doesn't help try downloading it again, reboot, and try again.

One other thought is that you might be using an anti virus program that is blocking it.

I am having the exact same issue. Have you found a fix yet?

Check if Windows Defender feature Ransomware protection is enabled.
If so, configure it to add Quicken as an "allowed app" without turning off Ransomware protection:
