Any advice for getting Quicken to recognize that my first paycheck of the month has been correctly categorized? All split amounts have been entered and properly coded and the math adds up.

I suggest viewing the paycheck as a split to determine uncategorized portion: open the register, select the paycheck transaction, and press Ctrl + Shift + S5
