How do I change a liability account to become a credit card account without losing the data?

When I originally set up a personal line of credit account as a "liability" account. It really is not a liability account but a revolving line of credit (credit card) account. Am I able to change the designation from a liability account to a credit card account without losing the data of the last 13 years?
