payee in memo column

Set up a new file. When downloading financial transactions, the program puts the payee name in BOTH the payee and memo columns. How can I stop it from filling in the memo column?

    Quicken is putting the same information in both the Payee and Memo fields because that is the information that is being provided by the financial institution.
    You could use Memorized Payees with something like "." in the Memo field and that would override what is being downloaded, but then you would have the "." in it instead.
    Personally, I just delete the contents of the Memo field myself on my CC accounts that do it.
