american express not accepting password

When I try and download american express transactions it states that I have to change the password. When I change the password I continue to not be able to log in via Quicken but no issues when on the Amex web page

Are you trying to connect with Quicken Connect? If so, for Amex, you should change to Direct Connect which is free and works much better with Amex. See this:
