For Quicken Bill Manager we need at least 25 Quick Pays and 15 Check Pays per month.

If you are using more than the allotted amount maybe you could charge more the amount over the allotted amount on a sliding scale as Quicken Bill Pay did. I have Quicken Premier for Windows. Having 12 Quick Pays and 6 Check Pays per month is not nearly enough. I am having to change several credit card accounts to Auto Pay using ACH at each bank. Does Quicken Home and Business allocate more Quick Pays and Check Pays than Quicken Premier?

    Hi @napscoinc ,

Why not simply switch to a Bank, PNC Bank or Chase Bank that works with Quicken using Direct Connect Connections with their Bill Pay and that's free for Qualifying Customers.

    Hello @napscoinc

Thank you for taking the time to visit the Community to post your issue.

At this time Quicken Home and Bussiness and Premier offer the same amount of payments. The amount does vary depending on a few factors outlined below:

    Payment allotment

Subscription Release users on Premier or Home & Business
12 Quick Pay payments and 3 Check Pay payments.

Subscription Release users on Premier or Home & Business that are also existing Quicken Bill Pay users
12 Quick Pay payments and 6 Check Pay payments.

Quicken users who currently use Quicken Bill Pay and pay a monthly fee for the service:
15 Quick Pay payments and 15 Check Pay payments.

    https://www.quicken.com/support/quicken-bill-manager-how-many-payments-can-i-make-each-month

It has been stated in the announcement available HERE  while there is no current way to add more payments to your total monthly payments, we are working to provide this option.

Unfortunately, I do not have an ETA to provide when this will be completed we are aware that this is an important feature and are working on it.

    Thank you,

    -Quicken Tyka

It looks like I get 10 Quickpays and 6 Checkpays a month. This doesn't quite fit my circumstances well, and I enjoy the convenience. Is there a way to subscribe for additional transactions each month??

Thank you for taking the time to visit the Community to post your question.

I have moved your post to an ongoing thread regarding the amount of Quickpay/Check pay transactions.

There is no current way to add more payments to your total monthly payments, but we are working to provide this option.  If you reach your payment 'limit' for the month, you will see a message that you can't make more payments.

    Thank you,

Today when I tried to make a couple of Quick Pays and Check Pays with Bill Manager a popup came up and said that my quota would be reset on the 1st day of the month (tomorrow) and showed my quota balance for today to be 3 Quick Pays and 2 Check Pays. But the bill manager did not process my payments for the Quick Pays and Check Pays as if I was out of my quota for the month. I went to the Payment Accounts window within the Bills & Income tab and it showed my quota balance to be 3 Quick Pays and 2 Check Pays as Payments Remaining (my balance). It did not show me a message that I couldn't make my payments because I was within my Payments Remaining Quota.

As we move from the old Online Bill Pay to Bill Manager many of us will require many more transactions then allowed with Check Pay. When will these capabilities be available?

I recently upgraded to Premier to use check pay and quick pay. After a lot of trial and error I have concluded the whole system is useless. A quota of 3 checks per month which can't be upgraded?! Hello???!!! Half of the quickpay accounts I tried to use don't accept quickpay even tho their logo is in the dropdown menus. It just takes 24 hours to fail.

Concur with pgdco. I believe that we have lost some functionality as we moved from Quicken Bill Pay to check pay and quick pay. It is NOT an upgrade, rather a downgrade. When will increased capability be available?

When I upgraded to Quicken Premier subscription from Quicken 2017 desktop version for Windows, I was given the impression that I would be getting Quicken Bill Pay for free with my subscription. Previously I had been paying a monthly fee for Quicken Bill Pay. However, I discovered as soon as I had upgraded to the Quicken Premier Subscription 2020 that the Quicken Bil lPay service was to be completely discontinued. I consider this very dishonest since your company must have known in advance that it was discontinuing its relationship with Metavante Corp. that provided the Bill pay service. In it's place Quicken put a poorly designed, highly flawed bill pay service with no ability to schedule payments in advance, which frequently loses the payee and payment account setups, and severely limits my ability to make Check payments (3 per month is grossly insufficient). This "bait and switch" marketing is really disconcerting. I would have expected as a longtime Quicken Bill Pay user to at least get a product that provided the same powerful features of the previous system: an ability to sync payments with my register, schedule payments in advance, track payments, and write as many checks as I needed to memorized online payees and download detailed online bill statements.

Now that I have tried the Bill Manager and Checkpay systems, I find they are almost useless. I have had quickpay payments fail, online bills not update or online billers need to be re-entered after having disappeared . Recently my payment accounts got corrupted and I got a message that my payment accounts could not be retrieved for Checkpay. I have wasted so much time setting up accounts and payees multiple times. So now I just end up going directly to the biller's website, paying on their website after logging in and I have to manually enter the transaction in my Quicken register. So much for your "convenient" features. Not to mention time troubleshooting and having to restore old backup files to fix the problem.

Please advise as to when you are going to correct these issues and give us a product at least as good as what you took away. If I was offered free "Quicken Bill Pay" when I signed up, then I shouldn't have to pay a monthly fee to get at least 15 payments and 15 Checkpay transactions per month. Currently, I only get 12 Quickpays and 3 Checkpays. I understood I would be getting more than that with my upgrade. And my goodness, you need to design something that allows for scheduling payments in advance, not just a quickpay option. I believe many people like to sit down and get their bills paid on a schedule.

Quick Pay only recognized 4 of my monthly vendors. Meaning 8 of the 12 available Quick Pay transactions will go unused every month. Quick Pay needs to recognize more vendors (e.g., John Hancock Life Ins) or provide more Check Pay transactions. Bill Pay has actually made the product worse!

this negates any reason to have quicken. I have to use more than 6 check pays per month. Plus the inability to post date the payment is a non-starter. after many years, as a loyal customer, your product has become worthless to mel

I've been with Quicken many years and have always been happy with it. I like the concept of Quick Pay and Check Pay too. However, It would seem that what is being called an upgrade is actually a major fail. Without repeating everything above, More check pays need to be added, more quick pays need to be added and a function that allows one to schedule the payments for the bills is a necessity for this thing to be considered a success. Premier was at one time supposed to provide some advantages over basic. Now, it seems we just pay a premium for minimal differences. We are paying more for less service than we had. If the bill scheduling function would be included the lack of Quick Pay and Check Pay would not have the negative impact that it has. (although more should still be added) The other thing that I noticed with Check Pay is it always provides an estimated date of delivery to the individual but to be accurate you have to add at least a week to 10 days to your estimate. So now one has to write a check a 2-3 weeks in advance to make sure it get there. If the service doesn't provide more quick pays and more check pays and the ability to schedule payments soon, I'll need to look for a different service. I'm just one person and my leaving would not hurt in the big picture but after so many years of good service You should know the reason why.

I just ran into the QuickPay limit, which I did not realize existed as this was my month to move everything over. The Quick Pay limit is too low and not having any way to extend it is simply poor unacceptable service. It is unseemly to expect users to use a "mixed" organization method for paying bills. One month using QuickPay and perhaps the next having to write a check or take the time to manually sign into a web account (if available) to make a payment. (Removed-Rant)

For the third month in a row I have run into the Check Pay limitation. The work around has been to switch over to Bill Pay. But after that product is shut down, the value is Bill Manager drops dramatically. Quicken needs to reconsider their limits or risk people fleeing to bank sponsored bill/e-check services, which by the way are free. (Removed-Inaccurate)

Quicken billpay was a big part of the justification for me to switch to the subscription Quicken Premier. I have been very happy with the product until now. Unless bill manager features catch up with quicken billpay, that justification for me is gone. I'm not planning on using Bill Manager in its present form

Will we have an option for more than 6 Check Pay uses per month? I need many more than that for that service to be usable.... I've toyed with it and while it is convoluted and the terminology between Bill Pay, Check Pay and Online Bill Pay is VERY confusing and the overlap between Bill Pay and Check Pay doesn't help. It works, kinda. At least it's been improved to allow for scheduling payments ahead. I still have to allow for lead time to pay in a timely fashion. Don't have to worry about that with Online Bill Pay.... How about arranging for a subscription to Online Bill Pay separate from Quicken?? MORE CHECK PAY USES BEFORE THE END OF AUGUST PLEASE!

In the new Bill Manager, there is a limit to the number of checks that may be written. Allow more checks for an additional charge. VERY IMPORTANT! This was done in BillPay.

scratch that. I use an average of 19 online bill pays a month now. AVERAGE. It is troubling that we still can't know what we have to work with for sure. Right now it's only six. That's absolutely not customer usable. I'd have to find a bank with Direct Connect and tell my local bank they are of no use to me. Oh wait. I forgot about my cc and home mortgage with them! What's the plan!!

I have converted over to the new Bill Manager and begun paying my bills. It did not take long before I received notification that I had exceeded my quota and I could no longer pay my bills.

It seems that there are limits of only 6 Check Pays and 12 Quick Pays per month! When will this be expanded to be at least on par with the previous Quicken Bill Pay service which is being deprecated?

Ok - Quicken Bill Pay going away end of August. I am given a certain number of bills I can pay with Quick Pay and Check Pay. What options will I have if I need more after this date? I have not seen a definitive answer for this yet. And no, I don't want to be writing more checks by hand. And no, my bank does not allow for OFX [Direct Connect] bill payment from within Quicken.

Still no answer about getting more Bill pay AND Check Pay uses!! Clock is ticking and many of us are worried about how we are going to pay our bills! Many of use aren't sure that the new bill paying system is working! I have to give everything at least a week's lead time for payment! Solve this problem or extend Online Bill Pay until you can solve these issues! Please!

I think that the current Bill pay and Check Pay quota seems to be too small for normal usage. The basic functionality should be expanded to cover more realistic house hold usages per month. If after that additional Check Pay or Bill Pay have been used then a paid as needed should be employed, the current methodology seems to be short sighted for practical use.

When is Reoccurring Scheduled payments for both Bill Pay and Check Pay bills. I keep seeing thought out the year that its being worked but its needed now!!!
  • OFrankly

This entire Bill Manager update is very disappointing! Payment limits (Quick Pay, Check Pay) are too low, participating (Quick Pay) payee options are too few, and the inability to schedule reoccurring payments are all down-grades and good reasons to look for an alternative full-service provider. The Quicken "subscription" service is out pricing itself by reducing its most valued services.
