Quicken has always printed grid lines on reports. If you look closely in a Print Preview, you can see them. But, they are very thin and light grey and, depending on your printer resolution and print quality they may not always print. So, review your printer's System Preferences print quality and dots per inch resolution settings.
In newer versions of Quicken there's a setting which will print colored bars across the paper to make it look like the old computer green bar paper. See if that works better for you, if you use a color printer. Go to Edit / Preferences / Reports only. Put a checkmark at "Alternate row color"
I checked the alternate row color, print only under Edit/Preferences, and no alternate colors and no grid lines. Restarted the computer, same result. Box is still checked. Using HP Color laser printer. Help, reports are almost impossible to read.
Not all reports show lines in alternate row color. AFAIK, only reports
showing transaction detail lines will show row color or grid lines.
Do make sure that, in System Properties for your printer, the default resolution is set to 600 dpi or higher. Low resolution or printing in draft mode may not print the thin grid lines.
