Quicken 2017 [edited]

I just reinstalled Quicken 2017 and this company is preventing you from installing it. This company is going to be reported the the BBB for there illegal activities. They do not have the right to stop installation of a legal copy of the program and the do not have the right to disable the ability to download the files from your bank and upload it to my legal copy of the program. I suggest the moderator contact there lawyers to resolve this before this escalates to a class action lawsuit against the company.

In what manner are you being prevented from reinstalling QW2017 Cdn?
And they DO have the right to prevent "online activities".
The discontinuation of those was a part of the End User License Agreement that you agreed to when you installed Q.  Had you NOT agreed to this, Q would not have installed.
Every year, when a product year "sunsets" someone threatens to sue.  They never do because, to do so, you'd be attempting to disavow a contract from which you've enjoyed the benefits ever since you installed Q.
There's not a lawyer in Canada or the US who's stupid enough to take that action.

@nukem - That End User License Agreement gives you the right to use your Quicken 2017 program for manual data entry for as long as it is compatible with your OS.  But the online services you want to use is not part of the 2017 program you installed.  That is owned, maintained and managed by Quicken.  When you purchased and installed your 2017 program Quicken granted you a license to access and use their online services until 4/30/2020.  If you want to continue using their online services you will need to upgrade to their subscription service.

    Read the press release.

No where does it say you are required to pay a monthly fee. So no. This company is corrupt and will be held accountable for false advertisement of the product. No company changes how old products work. If you want the latest feature then you have to upgrade. So no this company has to respond before this goes to BBB and Federal Trade Commission if needed. Also the state has laws protecting consumers from fraud companies like this one.

    Hello @nukem

Thank you for taking the time to visit the Community to provide your feedback.

Quicken 2017, just as other Quicken products sold during the previous 10 years, was sold with a 3-year connected services contract which has come to an end.

The reason for the 3-year term is that there are very real ongoing costs associated with maintaining connectivity, purchasing data for connected services, operating cloud-based companion apps, security monitoring and management, and periodically revising the product itself to meet evolving security and connectivity changes with financial institutions.

If you would like to learn more about the discontinuation please take a moment to review the information HERE and HERE.

I would also like to clarify that Quicken does not offer a monthly subscription option is an annual subscription.

To learn more about the Quicken subscription, please take a moment to review the information available HERE.

I do apologize if the discontinuation has come as a surprise and has caused confusion or frustration, I hope the above information helps to clarify.

    Thank you,
    -Quicken Tyka
