Some how I set up a duplicate checking account and then erased the wrong one. Now the bank cannot update the account when I dial in. If I start a new account on my Quicken list will it be updated the next time I dial in allowing me to dalete the "ghost account" I now have?

While I agree with @Sherlock, you should be aware that you can't restore "an account". It's your entire data file that will be restored, and you'll have to re-add (manually or via download) anything that was added to your current file after the backup was created.

The easiest way to undo any change is to restore a backup saved before you made the change: select File > Backup and Restore > Restore from Backup File...0
