Need ability to pay fixed or repeating payments on Quicken Bill Manager [3 Merged]

Agreed. Promise was to make Bill Manager at least as good as Bill Pay. Doing this is part of that.11
-
This is a key feature and needs to be implemented in Bill Manager as it was in Bill Pay.8
-
Bill Manager needs to have at least the same functions as Quicken Bill Pay and until it does Quicken Bill Pay should not end on August 31, 2020.6
-
I have discovered that I cannot convert a "placeholder" transaction to a payment transaction in my register. If I cannot schedule a repeating payment and I cannot edit a reminder transaction, that is a significant loss of functionality that I use often.4
-
The entire Bill Manager feature is way over designed. I wish I could just manage when and what I pay like the old BillPay. Date, amount done. As many times in the future as I want. That actually seems like the base, simple approach. Why go to the extra work of adding an arbitrary constraint that only one payment can be scheduled at a time.5

Another feature that I relied on for decades that's been removed. :-<5

My experience with the new Bill Manager..
Fortunately I do not have a requirement for more than the allowed Quick or Check pays so this is not an issue for me as it is for some.. One thing I do like is the ability to Quick pay (electronic funds transfer) with little to no lead time..
With the old Bill pay, when I received a bill in the mail, I would enter it in Quicken to be paid approximately a week before the due date.. My biggest complaint is the fact that Quick pay is tied to the latest bill received from the biller.. What this does is creates the inability to schedule a Quick pay to a biller where I have received a statement but the Quicken Bill Manager has not been updated with the information.. This prohibits me from scheduling past the current date..
I cannot see the purpose of tying the date I am allowed to schedule a payment with the last bill that Quicken knows about.. I can assure you that none of my billers would object to me sending them money at any time.. With one of my monthly utility bills, I have had to change it over to Check pay to work around this very problem..
I have mentioned this issue with different members of your support group when working with them on other issues but they didn't seem to consider it a problem.. It may be minor, but it is definitely an inconvenience when trying to use Quick pay..9 -
Quicken Bill Manager needs to have at least the same functions as Quicken Bill Pay and until it does Quicken Bill Pay should not end on August 31, 2020. For me, primarily, its repeating payments. I cannot believe I will have to go back to manually making every repeating payment I have.
Make no mistake about it, Quicken Bill Manager is a serious step backward, and no matter how much you talk about this being fixed in the future (you have had months and months already) - canceling the current system that works BEFORE you get the new Bill Manager working is ridiculous.4 -
Even worse, Bill Manager has major bugs. I have Check Pay payments that were created by copying a previous Check Pay transaction. My register shows them as all being check number 0, with an estimated delivery date of 6/22, a payment date of 7/28, and an initiated date of 6/17. I did the copy and paste transaction in late July. I have no idea if these payments went out; there is no way to verify a payment was sent; Support cannot tell if they were actually sent; if they were sent, then they were sent in error - I only wanted the transaction copied without the Check Pay part occurring because I wrote manual checks by hand; and I cannot stop pay them without a check number.2

Bill manager lacks -
Scheduling payments on a future date certain, and
Repeating payments
Both of these were essential features to Bill Pay. This is an enormous and intolerable regression.4 -
I am in the process of weaning myself off of Quicken Bill Pay be the end of August here when Quicken Bill Pay is discontinued. I have made the transition with the exception of my recurring/repeating online payments. I have assumed this feature was already built into Quicken Bill Manager only to find out this morning that it is not yet available. I am seriously surprised and shocked you have not yet incorporated this into Quicken Bill Manager before you are shutting down Quicken Bill Pay. And, from reading this post, I can see you have many others who are at least as upset as I am. But, I'm glad to hear that you have this "in the works" and just hope we won't have to wait long for this valuable feature.4
-
Agree with all of the above, plus I'm capped at 3 check pays per month? After having unlimited online payment capacity for years? So I'm supposed to go back to manually writing checks and stamping envelopes for my dozens of payees every month? Incredible.2

Recurring Payments are currently not available. We know this is a big concern to users, and we're working on this feature so we can get this to you as quickly as possible. However, there is no ETA available at this time, I do apologize.
This thread is being closed as this has been acknowledged and this feature is in the works and this thread is becoming argumentative and is no longer constructive.

Not being able to set up recurring payments is a major headache for me. I want to be able to set up in quicken where it automatically sets up one time to make recurring monthly payments and the bill gets paid monthly with no other input from me0
-
Couldn't agree more. This deficiency in Bill Manager is a major headache.1

If is a very common thing to make middle-of-the billing cycle payments to certain billers, (example, credit card accounts or mortgage holders). As a practice, I have always paid my major credit card twice a month, even though they bill only once each month. This is because of twice each month paydays. Quicken online billpay rejects the middle of the month payment because the billers online system indicates the possibility of a duplicate payment. Instead of an outright refusal to permit an out-of-cycle payment, I suggest exploring the possibility of permitting the payment after a warning message is accepted. I know the biller will accept the electronic payment because I am still able to post an electronic payment from my bank billpay service. This would also fix a potential issue where an ebill is not received from the biller for the cycle.
Striving to make Quicken better.Inaugural (Intuit) Quicken user ... still here.0 -

I still need the ability to set up and pay fixed or repeating payments in Quicken Bill Manager for Check Pay vendors (eg. Monthly Homeowners Association dues). It is my understanding that recurring payments in Bill Manager were in development. There has been no status update on this. I would like some status update.0

Recurring payments functionality has been promised for over a year now. What is the planned implementation date?1
-
Just had a chat with Juan in the support group who said recurring payment functionality still has a "Planned" status. I'm beginning to wonder if it'll ever be implemented. If not, the truth would be nice. If it will be, a potential release date--month/quarter/year would be appreciated.1

:( In another 2019 post they said they'd have it in the summer of 2020. Still waiting. Still need this! I already had set up electronic payments from my bank. I just need to pay one place every month! But it's critical so I was having Quicken sent out bill pay checks for years. Now they took it away and replaced it with a product that can't do the most basic thing - make sure my bill are paid on-time - as scheduled.
I've searched and found dozens of threads where they respond: Well if enough people think it's important... Enough do already!0 -
I upgraded to Premier to use the Bill Payment functionality to "simplify" my life. I think I'll downgrade and go back to the bill payment web page offered by my Credit Union. It worked flawlessly and has more functionality - worth the manual reconciliation with Quicken.1
-
Quicken Development Team,
Is the ability to schedule recurring online payments still in the works, and if so, when will that be implemented? I purchased Premier a few months ago thinking that this was already a feature, but sadly I was mistaken. This a deal-breaker for me to renew my subscription.

I don't think this is a new idea, so can you please tell meif the ability to schedule recurring online payments still in the works, and if so, when will that be implemented? Glenski, don't hold your breath. This has been an issue since the “new” billpay was released. It lacks so many features, and has so many problems (like cancelling payments on the day they are due) that I finally gave up on Quicken billpay and checkpay. I do it all for my banking website. Yes, it' requires extra steps and is less convenient. But it has one important feature: it works. Sending checks, making transfers, repeat payments. It all just works.
And yes, this feature should work. But they can't seem to get it to do so reliably. It still lacks the features the old billpay had (like repeating payments, or letting you send in an extra or early payment, or voiding a checkpay check that was never received). 🤦🏻♂️

Rx, you describe my experience as well. THe “new” billpay just doesn't work for me. My credit union checkpay is reliable and has all the features I need.
