Contents of C:\ProgramData\Quicken folders that are numbers?

I just happened to be looking at the folder above. I see many folders like this?

=============
C:\ProgramData\Quicken>dir
Volume in drive C is OS
Volume Serial Number is EEE1-088E

Directory of C:\ProgramData\Quicken

03/10/2020 01:41 PM <DIR> .
03/10/2020 01:41 PM <DIR> ..
12/10/2019 12:07 PM <DIR> 00232
10/22/2018 12:37 PM <DIR> 01236
10/22/2018 11:51 AM <DIR> 06526
10/22/2018 11:52 AM <DIR> 07768
10/22/2018 11:52 AM <DIR> 10482
10/22/2018 11:51 AM <DIR> 10898
05/07/2019 10:44 AM <DIR> 11410
03/10/2020 01:42 PM <DIR> 12536
10/22/2018 11:52 AM <DIR> 59019
05/07/2019 10:51 AM <DIR> 66180
==============

Look at the dates and when I look at the content, almost every one has an ERROR.HTML. Others have more, for instance.

===============
C:\ProgramData\Quicken\06526\99E2B47D>dir
Volume in drive C is OS
Volume Serial Number is EEE1-088E

Directory of C:\ProgramData\Quicken\06526\99E2B47D

08/25/2020 05:32 PM <DIR> .
08/25/2020 05:32 PM <DIR> ..
02/27/2020 06:13 PM 4,622 error.html
08/25/2020 05:32 PM 172 SUMMARY.DAT
08/25/2020 05:32 PM 113 SUMMRY2.DAT
3 File(s) 4,907 bytes
2 Dir(s) 21,501,353,984 bytes free
===================

Now the STRANGE part are the last two files. Many of the above folders have them too:

===============
C:\ProgramData\Quicken\07768\80DD200C>dir
Volume in drive C is OS
Volume Serial Number is EEE1-088E

Directory of C:\ProgramData\Quicken\07768\80DD200C

07/02/2019 02:29 PM <DIR> .
07/02/2019 02:29 PM <DIR> ..
02/24/2020 06:23 PM 4,768 error.html
08/25/2020 05:33 PM 173 SUMMARY.DAT
08/25/2020 05:33 PM 111 SUMMRY2.DAT
3 File(s) 5,052 bytes
2 Dir(s) 21,500,612,608 bytes free
================

Every folder that has the 2 .DAT files seems to be update around the same time, actually it seems sequentially?

================
C:\ProgramData\Quicken\10482\158BF3A4>dir
Volume in drive C is OS
Volume Serial Number is EEE1-088E

Directory of C:\ProgramData\Quicken\10482\158BF3A4

08/25/2020 05:33 PM <DIR> .
08/25/2020 05:33 PM <DIR> ..
10/04/2019 04:07 PM 2,327 error.html
08/25/2020 05:33 PM 224 SUMMARY.DAT
08/25/2020 05:33 PM 162 SUMMRY2.DAT
3 File(s) 2,713 bytes
2 Dir(s) 21,500,841,984 bytes free
==================

However, filesize like the first two are the same, but not the same as the last? Then I get another one at the same time but different sizes from the others?

================
C:\ProgramData\Quicken\10898\29377124>dir
Volume in drive C is OS
Volume Serial Number is EEE1-088E

Directory of C:\ProgramData\Quicken\10898\29377124

08/25/2020 05:33 PM <DIR> .
08/25/2020 05:33 PM <DIR> ..
04/30/2019 05:33 PM 3,724 error.html
08/25/2020 05:33 PM 169 SUMMARY.DAT
08/25/2020 05:33 PM 110 SUMMRY2.DAT
3 File(s) 4,003 bytes
2 Dir(s) 21,504,311,296 bytes free
================

I also have many .INI files, all with the same date as today, and the contents appear similar to me?

What is going on? Why basically duplicated files?

Do I need all of them? Can I erase them?

Also the GPUCACHE folder on the desktop as well.

ALL happening around the same time I ran Q? Is Q wasting time or is there a valid reason for this?

    gpucache should be in the directories with the other logs, that is a programming bug that it appears where you have stated Quicken, but you shouldn't be touching any of those other files unless you are trying to get a clean uninstall because of some kind of problem.  Those directories are where Quicken stores various configuration files, log files and other files for it to keep track of what it is doing.

    You can delete the gpucache folder, but it will just come back.  You can get this gpucache to be "hidden" by changing the startup folder in the Quicken Desktop shortcut and deleting it.  It will get recreated wherever that startup folder points to.
    It really doesn't matter where the startup folder is, but most just set it to where their data file is stored.

    Those numbers are the financial institution numbers found in fidir.txt.
    You have (or maybe had if the files are really old) accounts at My Synovus, Capital One 360, Bank of America-All Other States, and more.

    OK, thanks. Got it.

    Digging around more I do see some OLD folders, not updated and some are clearly from my last full CD install of Q.

    I guess like the GPUCache folder on the desktop some are not needed either?

    If you want to clean these up I suggest that you do an uninstall of Quicken, delete them and then reinstall.  This is known as the QCleanUI procedure.  That way you will ensure that the Quicken install/run of Quicken recreates what it needs and you haven't deleted something that might make Quicken act "strange".

    Edit added QCleanUI procedure link:

    Chris, good suggestion! I'll look into it, I guess I'll have to figure out saving the data? Is the data file all I need?
