Hello @Barb,
Thank you for providing the additional information, though I apologize that you have not received a follow-up response yet.
As far as your issue concerning downloading transactions goes, I suggest deactivating and then reactivating the account to reset the connection and see if that will push the transactions to come through again.
As for the missing check numbers-- I recommend validating your data file by following the steps below.- First Save a backup of your data file (just in case)
- Go to File
- File Operations
- Validate and Repair
- Validate File
- Ok
- Close the data log that will pop-up after the validation has completed
- Close Quicken
- Wait at least 5 seconds
- Reopen Quicken
- Try again to see if the issue reoccurs/remains the same or gets corrected
You can also try super validating which are the same steps as above except that you will hold Ctrl and Shift on your keyboard when clicking on Validate and Repair in order to get the option for Super Validate.
Last, please be aware that Quicken Bill Pay has been discontinued and replaced with Quicken Bill Manager. Please, review this support article for more information.
I hope this helps and let us know if you have any additional questions!-Quicken Anja5

Hello @ Barb
Thank you for posting in the Community, though I’m sorry that you are experiencing this issue with the One Step Update.
Following the One Step Update function is an error message presented? If there is, what is the message and/ or error code? You mentioned that the process also does not add a check number to the payment. Are you using your financial institutions bill pay system, Quicken Bill Manager or Quicken Bill Pay?
These details will help us narrow down the issue.
Thank you
