Making Credit Card payments when not due

I have linked my credit card in Quicken Bill Manager to the Biller. The status in Quicken shows that my bill has been successfully added, but my next amount is not due yet. How do I make a payment anyway?

  • Hello @rwaugh

    Thank you for reaching out on the community and telling us about your issue. I was taking a look to see if I was able to pay still while a biller was not due and it does look like I'm able to pay my bill from the bills and income tab. Do you get an error message when you try paying?

    Here's also a picture down below with the biller processing. You should be able to click on quick pay and still be able to pay the bill accordingly.

    Could you try it out and let us know if it works. If not could you also take a screenshot so that we're able to see what exactly is going on.

    Thanks,

    Quicken Francisco

    Hi Quicken Francisco. Thanks for your reply. I have attached a screenshot of what my screen looks like. When I click the drop down arrow next to "Try Again" my only choices are Refresh Bill, Unlink from Capital One, and Go to Biller Website.
    Thanks, Ria

    As Quicken does not have the bill, I suggest you enter the Quick Pay payment using the register.  If you haven't already, you may want to review: https://www.quicken.com/support/quicken-bill-manager-scheduling-future-dated-payments-windows

    Thanks for you reply Sherlock. Unfortunately that does not work either. I get the attached message after selecting the Biller. I followed the instructions in the message, deleting the biller and setting it up again only to receive the same message.

    @rwaugh ,
    Capital One cannot be paid using Quick Pay.  It should not be set up as an online biller.  This problem dates back to 2019.

    Thanks for your response. It would a shame if this issue carried over from Bill Pay to Bill Manager. I don't see any recent (since the Aug 31 transition) comments to that affect in the link you shared. I was always able to send payments from Quicken to Capital One on the previous system, but now they seem intertwined. I really don't care so much about getting the bill in Quicken, just the ability to send payment. I actually had to write out a physical check and envelope and mail a payment to Capital One - seems like a giant step backwards.
    Thanks, Ria
