Find and Replace Payee Field

When I download transactions from certain payees, there is a numeric tag appended to the payee name in the payee field. When I run a tax report sorted by payee, each transaction shows as a different payee because of the numeric tag. I'd love to be able to do a find/replace with wildcard searching and change all of these transactions to a single payee. Especially handy when exporting to Turbo Tax.

You should be able to do this now. Create a renaming rule using the base Payee name, and mark it to apply to existing as well as future transactions.
For instance, let's say you have "Home Depot 1234" and "Home Depot 5678" as downloaded Payees, and you want the to both be just "Home Depot". Go to Window > Payees & Rules and click on the Renaming Rules tab. If you create a rule for:
If Statement Name contains Home Depot
Set Payee Name to Home Depot
and click the checkbox for "Also apply rule to existing transactions"
Click Review and you should then see a screen of matching transactions for which you can approve te renaming.Quicken Mac Subscription • Quicken user since 19931 -

Thank you!! Works as you suggested. Kind of an odd way to do it but thanks!0
