Synchrony Bank - Amazon

We have an Amazon Prime card and the account was added to Quicken and downloading transactions for over a year.
Recently, it began acting up and after trying to fix I deactivated and now it will not reactivate.
I believe the account is trying to connect to https://auth.synchronybank.com/account/login.
It should be going to https://amazon.syf.com/login/.
How do I fix this problem?

Hi @jprash78,
I actually believe that the correct web address for that card is as follows: http://www.syncbank.com/amazon
To fix it I suggest that you do the following:
1) Backup your Quicken data file;
2) Make sure that the account is deactivated by opening the account and clicking on the "Gear" icon in the upper right > select "Edit account details";
3) In the "General" tab, delete everything in the "Financial institution" box:
4) Next click on the "Online Services" tab > make sure the "Set up Now..." button is visible. If it is not, press the "Deactivate" button > Click "Yes" in the pop-up screen > close the Quicken application.
5) Re-open Quicken and open the credit card account - click on the "Gear" icon in the upper right > select "Set up online";
6) In the "Enter the name of your financial institution" window, type "Amazon.com" > then click on "Amazon.com Store Card - Synchrony";
7) on the next screen, type in your "user name" and "Synchrony password; then hit the "Connect" button.
This should reconnect your existing account to the bank. Let me know how this goes or if you have any follow-ups.

You can't personally. You will need to contact Quicken Support to resolve this.As a side note, Quicken does not necessarily use the same URL to make it connections as a user. The FIs will give Q a special URL for its connection.-splasher using Q since 1996 - Subscription - Win10
-also older versions as needed for testing

I could find only three instances of the work "amazon" in fidir.txt and the only one that made sense to me as a connection Quicken could use wasAmazon.com Store Card - Synchrony http://www.syncbank.com/amazonthough I believe the "Store Card" is different than the "Prime Card."The first address in your post is associated with Synchrony Bank Credit Cards and I couldn't find the second address you posted in fidir.txt.Amazon seems to have relationships with different banks for their Prime card - mine comes from Chase - and I'd certainly expect that they would all play nice with Quicken, so you might want to call Synchrony Bank and see if you can figure this one out.0

Hi @jprash78 ,Since you have Deactivated it, don't use Account Overview, but go to the following:At the top, click File. Click New Quicken File. Dot New Quicken Account and click OK.After entering amaz and it finds the below. Click Next.I just tried setting this up in a New Quicken Data File and it worked just fine.Just enter your Login and password from: https://amazon.syf.com/login/ .

this sounds promising I can remember doing this years ago to fix some accounts that broke connection thank you0 -
The card has worked perfectly in Quicken since setup in 2004. The FI is simply "Chase" and the Amazon card shows up along with my Chase-branded when I log into Chase.com.0

Thanks everyone for responding.

I'll revert w more questions after I break more stuff1 -
