Can I order Quicken Deluxe for a family member from inside my QWin in Add-on Services?

I use Quicken for Windows Premier. I want to order Quicken for Windows Deluxe inside my desktop program inside the Add-on Services tab for the 40% discount. She had the Starter program but did not use it. She wants Deluxe and I'm going to buy it for her. I have to enter her email/quicken id to order Deluxe for her but it's not clear what will happen next. I don't want to download it to my laptop. I want to get a activation code so she can use it to download Deluxe to her laptop later (she is not here, she lives elsewhere). There is no explanation on the Add-on Services screen so I don't know what to expect.

When we purchase a subscription from Quicken.com, the subscription is automatically activated and associated with the Quicken ID we authenticated when we signed in for the purchase.  The next time your family member opens a Quicken file associated with the Quicken ID, they should have access to the Deluxe functionality.

If they haven't installed Quicken, they may download the Quicken installation program at: https://download.quicken.com/windows/Quicken.exe

So that means I can purchase Deluxe for my family member (different Quicken ID than mine) inside my own local Quicken program (signed on as myself) on the Add-on Services screen and then she can download the program to her own laptop at a later time. Does the purchase on this screen give me a activation code?

I'd contact Quicken Support  to do this to ensure that the correct Quicken Id is associated with the purchase and to get the discount.

No.  tt means after you sign-in to Quicken.com with the Quicken ID of the family member and purchase the subscription, the subscription is active for the Quicken ID.  There is no activation code.

It comes with a Activation Code for the CD. It has a Coupon to save 40% to bring the price down to $31.19 before taxes for the Deluxe Version.

Just to clarify - if you purchase directly from Quicken, she just logs onto the Quicken website with her Quicken ID, and scroll to the download area, and download the software.... as per her Quicken User ID. - NO Activation Code involved.

If you purchase from a retailer, like Amazon, etc - then you receive either the physical media, or a download link - but you WILL also receive an Activation Code since the retailer has no way of associating your Quicken User ID with the download.  She would then enter the Activation Code when first starting the Quicken program..... not required when she download directly from the Quicken website with her ID.

EDIT.... OR - get the Activation Code from the retailer, and then download the Quicken program from the Quicken website - and enter the Activation Code on Quicken startup
